DESIGN FOR A STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,643, dated August 2'7, 1895.

Be it known that I, JOSEPH LEON GOBEILLE, a citizen of the United States, residing in Cleveland, in the county of Ouyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design in Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, constituting a part thereof.

The leading and essential features of my design consist of the stove-top A, the body portion 13, having its sides slightly curved in cross-section, and the base C, said several portions ornamented as shown.

The top A is distinguished from the bodyB by the undulating or wavy plain border 2, and runs up by gradations to a figured dome 3; having itself a plain-bordered base 4. Immediately beneath the border 2 the outwardlyarchod or overhanging crown 5 of the body B stands conspicuously and massively out beyond the surface of the portions immediately beneath and is provided with figured ornamentations of its own down to the horizontal and ornamental rib 6,which extends all around the stove. This rib has the eifect of apparently shortening the body of the stove and itself becoming the borderline of the top proper. Then beneath the said rib 6 the body is again broken into sections of difierent design, the middle section 8 being slightly curved upon each of its four sides in cross-section horizontally, giving the effect of fullness at this point, and has beaded panels 10 at its corners and figured ornamentation between said panels. The lowersection 9 is of massive design, standing out somewhat from section 8 and curving as you go down, first outward, then inward, and then outward again at its lower edge, where the ornamental top portion 12 of the base of the stove begins. The corners of the section 9 are fashioned to give each side the appearance of being distinct and separate parts, with an exposed edge of uneven thickness from top to bottom,

according to the lines of onrvation above de- U scribed. The section 12 of the base swells outward on a uniformly-curved line to the plain horizontal border 13, and an ornamental skirting 14 of marked design finishes the extreme bottom of the stove, the legs 10, decorated to match the skirting, being arranged at the corners thereof.
