DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,742, dated May 9, 1899.

Application filed March 22, 1899. Serial N- 710,102. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, EDWARD J. KING and THOMAS R. KENNEDY, citizens of the United States, residing at Rochester, Monroe county,

New York State, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cooking- Stove, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

The drawing is a perspective view illustratiug a stove or range embodying our present design.

The leading feature of the design is the shape and ornamentation of the stove as a I5 Whole and of the separate parts thereof, as

will be more particularly described in the following specification.

A indicates the base of the stove, having the legs a and also having scroll ornamentation 11 at the center of the front, extendingin opposite directions toward the corners, terminating in the large scrolls c. The corners of the base are decorated with the ornamentation (1, extending down upon the upper portion of the legs. Upon the top of the base is the plain band e, extending around the stove.

Arranged upon the end of the stove is the hearth F, having the smooth depending rim 9, curving upward at the corner of the stove and extending at the side of the body, as at f, and below this is the ash-pit section G, inclined at the front and having an orna Inentation 2'. Above the hearth is the front ash-pit door J, rounded upon the sides and having the ornamentation j across the top, and below this is the draft-damper k and the ornamentation l. The side ash-pit door K is ornamented with the scroll ornamentation 7c.

M indicates the oven-door, having its edges rounded and provided at the center with the panel m, embellished about its edges with a border of scrollworkn. Outside of the panel the door M is also decorated with conventional scrollwork N in bold relief, extending over the rounded edges of the door.

R indicates the oven-shelf, located beneath the oven-door, having the rounded edge 5 and 5c the flat surface ornamentation, as shown.
