DESIGN.
B. WOODHULL. HEATING STOVE No. 28,766. Patented May 31, 1898.
INVENTOR M If w m A UNITED STATES PATENT OEErcE.
BRADLEY WVOODHULL, OF DUNMORE, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO THE- SORANTON STOVE IVORKS, OF SORANTON, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,766, dated May 31, 1898.
Application filed February 26, 1898. Serial No. 671,701. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BRADLEY WoonHULL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dunmore, in the county of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
The drawing represents in perspective a stove showing the design.
The leading feature of the design consists in the configuration and ornamentation of the stove, as will hereinafter be described, and pointed out particularly in the appended claims.
The letter A indicates the base, having the legs a covered by the conventionalized scroll ornamentation. Above the base A is the top base-section B, having the ornamentations b at the corners and the scroll-like ornamentations at the sides and front and having the plain band I) along the bottom.
The ash-pit section of the stove is provided at the front with a door 0, which carries the depending ornamental plate 0 and is provided with the ornaments c c, as shown, below the said ornamental plate. On the sides of the ash-pit section are the panels C having a scroll-like ornamentation thereon, and carried by these panels are the rails '0 ornamented as shown.
O is the top plate of the ash-pit section.
The body-section of the stove has the central band D, having the corner ornamentations d, the intermediate portions having the scrolllike ornamentations d. Below this band, at the front, is the lower front door E, having four mica openings, the strip between the two front openings being ornamented, as shown, and the two other strips carrying the rosette-like ornaments e, the door also carryin g the scroll-and-leaf ornamentations 6 The side lower door E is provided with three mica openings and carries the scroll-and-leaf ornamentations 6 The upper front door F is divided into eight mica openings and carries the scroll-and-leaf ornamentations f. The upper side door F is divided into six mica openings and carries the scroll-and-leaf ornamentations f.
The upper portion of the body-section of the stove above the upper front door is provided with ornamentations, as shown at F, the section above the upper side door being ornamented, as shown at F The jacket G is curved upwardly and inwardly at the sides and front, the corners G extending downwardly over the corners of the body-section, the whole being covered with the scroll-and-leaf ornamentations, as shown. The upper edge of the jacket-section is beveled, and resting upon this beveled edge is the top ring J, provided with a plain band j, above which the upper portion of the ring is rounded, being covered with the scroll-andleaf ornamentation. Upon this top ring rests the coverXK, having the plain band 7. at the bottom and rounded surface covered with the scroll-and-leaf ornamentation, and upon the top is the ornament L.
The base of the stove is designed to be nickelplated, as is also the plate of the ash-pit door and the side rails, the top plate of the ash-pit section, the jacket, the top ring, and cover, thus producing a pleasing effect by the contrast between the blackened iron of the stove and the nickeled portions,
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In adesign for a stove, the design for the base; substantially as shown and described.
2. In a design for a stove, the design for the top base-section B; substantially as shown and described.
3. In a design for a stove, the design for the ash-pit section; substantially as shown and described.
at. In a design for a stove, the design for the ash-pit door; substantially as shown and described.

9. In a design for a stove, the design for side door of the upper portion of the body-section; substantially as shown and described.
10. In a design for a stove, the design for the jacket; substantially as shown and de scribed.
11. In a design .for a stove, the design for the top ring; substantially as shown and described.
12. In a design for a stove, the design for the cover K; substantially as shown and described.
13. The design for a stove, substantially as herein shown and described.
BRADLEY WOODHULL.
