DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,820, dated June 7, 1898.

Application filed February 25, 1898. Serial No. 671,699. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that I, BRADLEY VOODHULL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dunmore, in the county of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

The drawing represents in perspective view a stove embodying the present design.

The leading feature of the design consists in the ornamentation and configuration of the stove, as will now be described and the particular features of novelty pointed out in the claims hereto appended.

The letter A indicates the base of the stove, having the legs a, the base and the legs being covered by the scroll-like ornamentation, as shown. Above the base is the top base-section B, having the corner ornaments b and fluted ornamentation on the sides and front and the plain band b along the bottom edge.

The ash-pit section of the stove is provided at the front with the ash-pit door C, ornamented with the two scrolls c c, separated at the center by the ornaments c c. On the side of the ash-pit section are the panels C', having the scroll-like ornamentation thereon. Carried by these panels are the rounded rails C2, having the circular ends covered with the scroll ornamentation and having two arms or projections c2 c2 on the upper side and two arms c3 c3 on the lower side, all ornamented as shown.

C4 is the top plate of the ash-pit section, having the luted ornamentation G5 at the sides and the corner ornaments C6 and covered with the scroll ornamentation at the front.

The central section of the stove has the rounded curved band F, bearing the scroll ornamentation, as shown. Below this band on the side is a lower side door D, which is curved outward, both in the direction of its height and width, and is provided with six upper mica openings CZ and three larger mica openings d below these and the rosettes or buttons d2 on the central longitudinal dividing-strip. Below the band F in front is a door formed of two leaves D2, each leaf curved outward in the direction of its height and width and having the six small mica openings dg and three large mica openings d4 below these and the rosettes Aor buttons d5. Above the band or zone F at the side is the upper side door E, curved outward in the direction of its width and height and provided with the six mica openings e 'and carrying the scroll ornamentation c, as shown.

Above the band F at the front is a door of Atwo leaves E2, each curved outward in the direction of its height and width and provided with six mica openings e2 and carrying the scroll design e3.

IPI indicates pillars r posts vertically luted, of which there are two on each side of the body-section of the stove, curved to conform to the curvature of the band F and doors, as shown.

The jacket .I is curved upwardly and outwardly at the sides and front, while at the corners it extends down upon the body and covers the upper ends of the fluted columns Il, being covered with the scroll ornamentation.

The top ring K rests upon the jacket J, being covered with the scroll ornamentation, harmonizing with that of the jacket, the edge of the ring following the outline of ornamentation of the body portion of ring and lapping slightly over the top of the jacket, whereby the jacket and ring appear as one body and the ornamentation of each as a single design.

L is a dome-shaped cover covered with the scroll ornamentation, as shown, and carrying the ornament M.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

l. In a design for a stove, the design for the base; substantially as shown and described.
