JOHN A. PRICE, OF SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,720, dated September 13, 1887.
Application filed July 19, 1887. Serial No. 244.793. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Beitknown that I, J OHN A. PRICE, of Scranton, in the county of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new Design for Heating-Stoves; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and to the figures and letters of reference marked thereon.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a front view of my design for heating-stoves, and Fig. 2 a side elevation.
The stove consists of a body portion, A, of rectangular form, with the plain sides B and the corner-pieces B, on which are formed any appropriate designs, consisting in the present instance of conventionalized leaves.
0 represents the base, of ogee form, and broader at the bottom than at the point where the body meets it, a suitable projecting portion or flange, D, being provided at the upper side. The base section 0 is provided with rounded corners suitably ornamented with appropriate designs, as are also itssides, and where these corners, extending upward, meet the flange D projections D are formed, while in the front side of C is provided a door, E, also ornamented and of ogee form to correspond to the sides. Just below the broadest portion of the ogee base is a still broader border-piece or base-section, F,-'suitably ornamented, and from the lower side of this the supporting-legs pro ject.
On the sides of the base-section O are pro vided standards or projections G, supporting rails H, having the rounded ornamented ends, and on the rear side of the base is provided an upwardly-extending ogee-shaped projection, I, from which the smoke-pipe J rises. At the front of the body A is provided the door K, having the ornamented border L around it. Resting upon the body is the cap or top section, M, consisting of the flange Nat the lower side, rounded and ornamented,as shown, while above this is the inwardly-curved or concave portion 0, ornamented with suitable designs, and above this, again, the substantially straightedged flange P, forming the extreme top.
I do not desire to be confined to the exact ornamentation placed upon the various portions mentioned as being ornamented; but the design consists in the general configuration of the stove itself.
I claim as new 1. The design for stoves, consisting of the ogee base 0, the substantially-rectangular body A, having the rounded ornamented corners, and the top section, M, substantially as shown.
2. The design for stoves, consisting of the ogee base 0, having the rounded corners and flange D, the substantiallyrectangular body A, having the rounded corners, the doorin the front, and the top section, M, substantially as shown.
3. The design for stoves, consisting of the base-section F, the ogee base 0, ornamented and having the rounded ornamented corners and flange D, the substantially rectangular body A, having the rounded ornamented corners, and the door in the front thereof, with its ornamental framing, substantially as shown.
4. In a design for heating-stoves, substantially as herein shown, the border-piece or base-section F, the ogee base 0, and the rails at the sides supported in lateral projections from the base, as set forth.
5. In a design for heating-stoves, substantially as herein shown, the base portion 0, of
ogee form, ornamented and having the ogee projection I on the rear side, as set forth.
6. In a design for stoves, substantially as herein shown, the base portion 0, having the door at the front, the rails at the sides, and the ogee projection I at the rear, as set forth.
7. The ogee base-section 0, having the ogee door at the front, the rails at the side, and the ogee projection at the rear, substantially as shown.
8. The design for stoves, consisting of the ogee-shaped ornamented base 0, having the rounded corners, flange D, projection D at the corners, substantially-rectangular body A, and top section, substantially as shown.
JOHN A. PRICE.
