DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,668, dated September 21, 1897'.
Application filed August 12, 1897. Serial No. 648,053. Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that we, THOMAS R. KENNEDY and JOHN F. HEISTER, citizens of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county oi Monroe and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part lo thereof.
The drawing is a perspective view of a stove, showing our design.
The leading feature ot our design consists in the coniiguration and ornamentation of r the stove hereinafter described, and pointed .s ont particularly in the claims at the end of this specification.
A indicates the base ot the stove, having the legs a and substantially covered by the 2o conventionalized scroll-and-leat ornamentation shown. Above the base A is the top base-section I3, having the scroll-and-leaf ornamentation l) at the corners and on the front and sides the intermediate ornaments b and b2, the spaces between the ornamentation being plain and rounded down to the plain band h3, as shown.
The ash-pit section ot' the stove is provided at the front with the ash-pit door C, having 3o the damper-openings c and the ornaments c between them and also having the ornaments c2 and c3 at the ends of the door, as shown. On the sides of the ash-pit section are the plain and rounded rails O, having the Haring 3 5 ornainented ends C2 and supported at the ends upon the ornamental open-work brackets c4.
O5 indicates the top plate ot the ash-pit section, having at the corners the ornaments c5.
4o The central or body section of the stove has the rounded band or zone D, ornamented at d, next to the corner-posts, and beneath this band is the front lower door D', having the six mica openings, the strips d between the 4 5 openings being ornamented at theirintersection, as shown at d2. The side lower doorD2 is divided by the ribs or strips d3 into four l panels or mica openings and is provided with the ornament d'1 at the intersection of the ribs. The upper front door E is divided by the ribs or strips e into nine mica openings,
and said strips are provided with the ornaments el at their intersection. The upper front door E' is divided into six panels or mica openings by the ribs or strips c?, which are provided at their points of intersection with the ornaments c3.
The upper portion of the body-section is somewhat rounded and ornaniented by the leaf-and-scroll ornamentation at F. The top 6o section of the stove (indicated by G) is curved upwardly and inwardly at the front and sides, while the corners GeXtend downwardlyover the corners of the body. This top section G is provided with a horizontal plain band G2, above which the upper part GS is rounded at the edge, and both above and below the band the section is covered with the leat-and-scroll ornamentation shown.
H indicates the cover, having the plain ban d 7o H at the bottom, the rounded surface IP above it covered with the leat-and-scroll ornamentation, and upon the top of the cover is the urn-like ornament J.
