DESIGN FOR A STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,837, dated November 9, 1897.

Application filed June '7, 189 7. Serial No. 639,763. Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that I, GEORGE W. COPE, a citizen of the United States, residing atDetroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stove, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

The drawing represents a perspective view of a stove embodying my design. The stove is of the air-tight wood-burning variety.

The leading feature of my design consists in the shape and ornarnention of the stove, as herein shown and described.

The main body of the stove consists of the sides 1 and a front side 2, surmounted by a top 3, and urn or ornament at. Below the main body is the base portion 5, side rails 6, and stove-legs 7.

The urn or top ornament 4 is ornamented as shown in the accompanying drawing, the leading feature being a globular casting supported by an annular base with scrollwork upon opposite sides thereof.

The top portion 3 of the stove is surmounted in front by an ornamented elliptical or elongated removable top, upon which the urn 4t rests, the lower edge terminating in an ornamented skirting, as illustrated.

The main front 2 is ornamented, as shown, with a pleasing enfoliated design, in the up: per portion of which is an escutcheon 8, formed by a representation of two globes of different sizes, with conventional focusing rays radiating from a point or ring intermediate of said globes. In the lower portion of the front panel 2 is a second escutcheon 9, Centrally of this front formed as shown.

panel 2 is an ornamental door 10, having centrally thereof an ornamental stove-register 11.

The general design of the door is as shown in the drawing.

The lower base portion 5 has a front door or ash-pit door 12, ornamented, as shown, and also having an ornamented stoveregister 13 in the center thereof.

The side rails (5 have an enfoliated design, as shown.

The stove-legs 7 are also provided with an appropriate design, shown by the drawing.

Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. The design for a stove substantially as shown and described.

2. The design for a top portion of a stove substantially as shown and described.

The design for the front side or panel of a stove substantially as shown and described.

4. The design for the front feed-door of the stove substantially as shown and described.

5. The design for the stove-register substantially as shown and described.

6. The design for the side rails substantially as shown and described.

7. The design for the base portion of the stove substantially as shown and described.

8. The design for the ash-pit door substantially as shown and described.

9. The design for the stove-legs substantially as shown and described.
