To all whom. it may concern.-
Be it known that I, THOMAS I. RANKIN, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Heating-Stove, of which the following is a specification.
My design foraheating-stoveis clearlyillustrated in the accompanying drawing, which represents the stove in perspective.
The essential feature of the design is the ornamentation found on the base, front plate, and dome-section of the stove.
K is the base of the stove, carrying the ashpit structure, the ash-pit door 7r, at the front being ornamented with fioral scrolls.
k 70 are the feet which support the base of the stove, each foot being ornamented with a shell-scroll.
Each side of the base of the stove is ornamented with scrollwork, and the upper surface of each foot-rest k is ornamented by scrollwork in keeping with the general design.
The body K of the stove is plain, having an ornamental front plate K to which the fire-door K is pivoted. The fire-door has a name-plate and below it a rosette. On each side of the door is a long ornamental scroll, and at the top of the door is a fan-like scroll, and at the bottom of the door is a scroll.
Surrounding the fire-door opening is a series of scrolls, and below the door is a central fleur-delis ornament surrounded by scrollwork ornamentation in keeping with that of the door.
The dome K has a base-section K ornamented by scrollwork, and an upper portion K ornamented with fieur-de-lis, shell, and scroll ornamentation. Between the two sections is a narrow border having ribbed ornamentation thereon.
