DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,551, dated May 26, 1896. Application led April 17, 1896. Serial No. 588,043. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that I, EDWARD AMBEosE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Troy, Rensselaer county, New York, have invented a certain new and useful Design for OookingStoves, of which the following is a specification.

My design for a cook-stove or range is fully illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which the stovecis shown in perspective.

The essential feature of the design is the foliated scrollwork formed on the base, ovend oor,iiredoor, mantel-support, and reservoir.

The base A is quadrangular and is mounted on feet, and extending from the base down each foot is a fan-like scroll a, with a scalelike center a'. The center piece a2 of the base is formed by the union of two scrolls, which extend in graceful curves toward each corner of the base.

The oven-door E has a central medallion bordered by a conventional design, and at the four corners of the door are foliated scrolls. The scrolls at each end interlace.

The fire-door D has a foliated scroll forming a rosette, one end of the scroll terminating at the hinge.

The ash-pit door E has two scrolls bordering the damper-openings. One of these scrolls terminates at the hinge. The band between the fire-door and the ash-pit door has a design in keeping with the design on the said doors.

The front of the reservoir F has a foliated design thereon starting from the lower corner near the oven-door and extending upward in the opposite direction near the upper corner and terminating in this corner in a rosette. Branches of this scroll iill in the balance of the space. The lower edge of the reservoir has an ornamental edge in keeping with the edge of the base A. The top G of the stove and the mantel-shelf H each have a border in keeping with the base.

The support I for the mantel-shelf is bordered at'each side with ornamental scrollwerke', having branches extending toward the center. At the center, near the base of the mantel-support, is a bunch of ornamental scrolls, having four upwardly extending branches and a curved branch at each side while above this are two scrolls, one at each, side of the center, each having two branches extending to a point under the mantel-shelf, the whole being in keeping with the design of the main body of the stove. At the back, above the mantel-shelf, is an ornamental design consisting of two scrolls having extended branches in keeping with the ornamentation of the base of the stove.

I claim- 1. The design for a cook-stove or range as herein described and as shown in the accompanying drawing.

2. In a design for a cook-stove or rangethe base as herein described and as shown in the accompanying drawing.

3. In a design for a cook-stove or range` the oven-door as herein described and as shown in the accompanying drawing.

5. In a design for a cook-stove or rangethe mantel-support as herein described and as shown in the accompanying drawing.
