DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,262, dated November 10, 1896.
Application filed July 6, 1896. $erial No. 598,248. Term of patent 14 years.
To (I/ZZ whont it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HERBERT \V. BEATTIE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Quincy, in the county of Norfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign for Cooking Stoves and Ranges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
The drawing illustrates my design for stoves and ranges in perspective.
The leading feature of my design is the shape and ornamentation of the stove as a whole and of the separate parts thereof, as will be more particularlydescribed hereinafter.
A indicates the base of the stove, and ll the legs, said base having at the central portion of the front the rosette-like ornament C, rounding outward at the center and having the corrugations at the edge, and around this conventional honeysuckle or leaf ornamentation. The horizontal portions of the basebotween the ornament C and the corners are rounded outward and provided at top and bottom with small corrugations merging into said rounded portion, and at each of the corners and above the legs is the leaf and volute ornamentation, while the legs themselves are each ornamented by the conven tionalized leaf.
D indicates a rounded molding or zone above the base, and E the oven-door, having the central panel E surrounded by the ornamental border composed of scrolls, leaves, &c., as shown.
1* indicates the shelf beneath the oveirdoor, rounded and ornamented with the scrolls, &c.
G indicates the water-reservoir, substantially covered with the ornan'ientation in relief composed of the ornament G and scrolls, leaves, the.
N indicates the ash-pit extension at the end of the stove, having the leaf ornamentation thereon.
J indicates the end ash-pit door, having the scroll ornamentation in relief thereon.
K indicates the fircpot door, having the central ornament K thereon and the leaves surrounding it.
I; indicates the broiler-door at the end of the stove, having the ornamentation in relief thereon.
M indicates the front ash-pit door, ornamented in relief, as shown, and I the ornamental panel between the door M and the broiler-door L.
N indicates the rail at the rear of the top of the range, curved toward the front at the center, as shown, and having the leaf-scroll ornamentation in the form of a zone or band with the parallel lines or beads at top and bottom.
0 indicates shelves at the ends of the rail N.
I claim as my invention 1. The design for a cooking stove or range substantially as herein shown and described.
