DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,587, dated November 1, 1898;

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, THOMAS I. RANKIN, a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for a Cooking-Stove, of which the following is a specification.

My design for a cooking-stove is fullyillus trated in the accompanying drawing, the figare of which represents the stove in perspec tive.

The essential feature of the design is a cookin g-stove having lattice-work, scroll,and shell ornamentation combined as shown.

The base A, which is supported on the legs A, has at each corner a lattice-work design a, surrounded by a plain ring a, and each foot has a lattice-work section a. At the center of the panel is a lattice-work design a surrounded by broken scrolls a, and below these scrolls are shell-like ornaments a Extending toward each end are scrolls a of the design illustrated, and on each end, extending down each leg, are scrolls in keeping with the main portion of the design.-

The oven-door B has a shell-like scroll at each corner and a central ornamental panel inclosed by scrolls. Above the panel is a resette and below the panel is a fan-like scroll. The shell ornaments are connected by long scrolls, producing the design illustrated.

The fire-door D has a plain panel at the center and lattice ornaments at two corners diagonally opposite each other, and at one of the other corners is a shell-like ornamenta tion.

The ash-pit door E has a central rosette from which radiate a series of ribbed arms within a quadrant of a circle, and the upper surface of the door is ornamented in keeping with the rest of the door.
