DESIGN FOR A RANGE OR COOKING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,953, dated December 20, 1887.

Application filed October 29, 1887. Serial No. 253,792.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWARD L. UALELY, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, StateofPennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Design for a Portable Range or Stove, which improvementis fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying photograph.

to The leading features of my design for a portable range or stove are, first, ornamental legs; next, ornamental base; next, ornamentaldoors; and, next, an ornamental pipe-section, and finally an ornamental pipeshelf.

A designates the legs of the stove; B, the base; 0 D EF, the doors; G, the top plate; H, the pipe-section, and J the pipe-shelf. The top corners of the legs have central crosses, a, surrounded by scrolls b, the front of the legs having stripes a and studs b. From the base B depends a rim, K, the bottom of which is formed of crosses c, alternating with loops d.

Above said crosses and loops is a row of festoons, e.

The ovendoor O has a wave, f, on its up per edge, and scrolls g contiguous therewith. On the corners are dotted fields h and encircled star-shaped figures it, between which latter and the top scrolls, g, are wings m. On c the sides are sprays a, and on the bottom are semicircles 1). On said door 0 is a face-plate, L, with flowers q around a central medallion, M.

The wood door D has a wave, r, and

scroll s at top, an ornamental rim, t, at top, sides, and bottom, and a cross shaped figure, a, from the horizontal limb of which rise the columns v."

The ash-pit door E has upright bars w,

which are ornamented by means of scrolls as w, located between said bars and alternately differen-t.

The illuminating-door F has a panel, 3 of numerous columns, at top, a panel, 2, of two number of columns, below the same, and a panel, 2', of numerous columns, at bottom.

The pipe-section H has a central medallion, c, sprays d above said medallion, and scrolls Term of patent 7 years.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters 5 Patent, is-

1. In a design for astove or range, a leg with ornamentation thereon, consisting of the crosses a, the scrolls b, the stripes a, and studs, as shown and described.

2. In a design for a stove or range, a body with doors, a top plate, a pipe-section, and legs, the latter having the crosses a, the scrolls b, the stripes a, and the studs 1), as shown and described.

3. In a design for a stove or range, the base with a depending rim, the latter composed of the crosses c, the loops d, and the festoons e, as shown and described.

4. In a design for a range or stove, the oven- 7:) door O, with a wave, f, and scroll g at top, a

- central face-plate, with medallion and flowers,

the dotted fields h, the star-shaped figures k, the wings 'm, and the semicircles p, as shown and described.

5. In a design for a range or stove, the firedoor D, with the wave r and scrolls s, the rim 1, and the cross-shaped figures u v, as shown and described.

6. In a design for a range or stove, the ash- 8o door E, having bars w, with scrolls ac x, located between said bars and alternatel y different, as shown and described.

7. In a design for a range or stove, the front door, F, with a panel of numerous 001- nmns, y, at top, and panels z e, of less numher of columns, below the same, as shown and described.

8. In a design fora range or stove, the pipe section H, with a central medallion, c, the sprays d, the scrolls e, and rims f of open scroll-work,'as shown and described.

9. In a design for arange or stove, the pipeshelf J, with'a central rim, of circles, top and bottom rows, h, of loops, and intermediate loops, k, as shown and described.

10. The design for a stove or range, consisting of a body with doors having ornamentations thereon, a base with an ornamentation consisting of a rim formed of crosses, loops,

5 and festoons, legs with ornamentations of crosses, scrolls, stripes, and studs thereon, a pipe-section having a medallion, with sprays and scrolls surrounding the some, and a rim ornamentation ofopen scroll-Work, and a pipeshelf consisting of a central rim of circles [0 and top and bottom loops, as shown and described.
