DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,414, dated November 12, 1889.
Application filed August 10, 1389. Serial No. 320,418. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES DWYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of Wayne, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful Design for a Wood Heating-Stove; and. I declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this specification.
The drawing is a front elevation, partly in perspective, of a stove showing my design.
The leading features of my design are as follows: an ornamented foot-section A at the base of the stove, ornamented with embossed scrolls, from which the legs of the stove project; an ash-pit section B,provided with regis tor-doors ornamented on the face with embossed scrolls; a combustion-chamber section C, swelled somewhat to the frontand provided with embossed scrolls upon its face, and mica doors (3, likewise ornamented with scrolls in front of the mica lights. At one end of the combustion-chamber is a swelled door D, arched at the top and ornamented with embossed scrolls over its face. At the corners of the stove are upright upstanding pillars E, ornamented with scrolls. At the top of these pillars an outstanding roll or band F crosses the stove and is continued across the end over the door, as shown at F. Above the band F is a. panel G, ornamented with figures circular in outline, and these latter are surrounded by embossed scrolls. At the top of the stove is a section II, scalloped along its Above this is a dome-shaped top I, provided with a plain band i along its lower edge, a canopy .I, and ornamental figure J.
K is a foot-rail, ornamented with embossed scrolls, and from itproject the supports K, which give it the appearance of being suspended from above. The foot-rails, panel G, and canopy J are generally nickel-plated. The central ornament g is usually of tile, and the side ornaments g are usually provided with jewels at the center, and the whole design produces to the eye the general appearance illustrated in the drawing.
What I claim is" 1. The design for a stove, the same comprisiug the foot-section, the ash-pit and combustion sections, the arched door, corner pillars, raised transverse band, topseetion earn opy, and depending foot-rail, substantially as shown.
2. In a design for a stove, the depending foot-rail K, provided with plain curved suspending arms K, said rail ornamented with embossed scrolls, substantially as described.
3. In the design for a stove, the swelled arched door D, having its surface ornamented with embossed scrolls, substantially as shown.
4. In the design for a stove, the outstanding arched embossed roll F, having its surface ornamented with scroll-work, substantially as shown.
5. In the design for a stove, the canopy J, of a shell shape and ornamented with scrolls, substantially as shown.
