DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No, 16,372, dated November 10, 1885.

Application filed September 16, 1885. Serial No. 177,312.

Be it known that we, ARTHUR O. BEMENT, DIARQUIS D. KEYES, and CLARENCE E. BE- MENT, citizens of the United States, residing at Lansing, in the county of Ingham and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying illus- IO tration, forming a part thereof, and which fully represents the design and configuration and ornamentation.

A is the base, polygonal in form, having an overhanging band, as shown, and mounted upon the legs B, the outer faces of which are formed with an inverted pyramidioallyshaped panel, following the outline of said legs, and upon the center of this panel is a floral design, as shown. One of the sides of the base is prolonged, as shown, to form a hearth.

C is the ash-pit section, which rises from the base A, formed in horizontal polygonal section, diminishing toward the top in vertical section, and having a proper seat for the resting of the fire-pot section D. The faces of the various polygons of the ash-pit section are ornamented, as shown. The side of this ash-pit section coincident with the hearth is provided with adrat't doorand slide.

E is a foot-rail corresponding in form to that of the two sides of the ashpit section, upon which such rails are placed,and supported upon standards rising from the base A. The tire-pot section D is ogee-shaped in vertical outline and has upon its periphery alternating ribs, each alternate one extending the whole length of the fire'pot, while the others extend but partially of such length. Surmounting the fire-pot is an overhanging 4o annular ring, the upper face of which is partially perforated in pattern, while the imperforate portion is ornamented with floral designs, as shown, and in front appears the name given to the stove.

G is the combustionehamber, preferably cylindrical in form, surmounting the ring F, and is provided upon one side with double doors H I, hung independently of each other in an ornamental frame, J, upon the two vertical 5o sides of which is an ornamental band, K.

The door H has a raised panel, upon the two upper corners of which is a fan-shaped ornament, as shown, while in the center of said Term of patent '7 years.

panel appears a floral design. Near the bottom of this panel is a check-slide arranged to close or disclose openings in the door. The upper door, I, has also a raised panel, in which are placed three mica windows having ornamented division vertical bars, as shown, the base of such panel being surrounded with a pointed ornamentation similar to that surrounding the panel of the lower door. Surmounting the combustion-chamber section is the ring L, provided with the overhanging flange M. Upon the top of this ring is formed a step or rest for the flattened dome It, which is ornamented, as shown. Upon the top of this dome is mounted an urn, N, the swinging base 0 of which forms a cover to the opening in the top of the flattened dome, whilethe urn 7o proper terminates in an acorn, P.

What we claim is 1. In a design for a stove, the legs B, each formed with inverted pyramidicall ,'-shaped panel upon which is afloral design, as shown.

2. In a design for a stove, the ring F, partially perforated in pattern and ornamented with floral designs, as shown.

3. In a design for a store, the rectangular frame J, ornamented as described, and provided upon two sides with the band K, ornamented with floral designs, as shown.

4. In a design for a stove, the door H, having a raised panel, upon the center of which is a floral design and in the upper corners a fan-shaped ornament, as shown.

5. The hereiu-described design for a stove, consisting of the ornamental legs B, polygonal base A, polygonal tapering section G, with ornamental faces, ribbed section D, ring F,paro tially perforated and ornamented with floral designs,cylindrical body G, rectangular frame J, ornamental band K, foot-rest E, rectangular door I, having raisedpanel provided with ornamental division bars, door H, having raised panel upon which is a fan-shaped and floral design, flattened dome R, ornamented as shown, and the urn N, ornamented and terminating in an acorn, P, all substantially as shown.
