WIT/visas 2 is a side elevation of the stove.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE "W. BLAKESLEY, OF ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. BLAKEs EY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rock Island, Rock Island county, Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a front elevation of the stove. Fig. 2) is a plan view of the top of the stove with the urn removed. 7
The body A of thestove is elliptical in horizontal section and is encircled at bottom and top by bands of corrugations a a. The body rests upon a base B, supported by four legs Z. A conspicuous feature of the front of the stove is an upper extension I) of the base of the stove, which covers the lower part of the front of the body of the stove like an apron. The lower front of the base is extended downward into a pouch-like form closed in front by the lift-door I) dependent from the apron Z). The lift-damper (1 consists of a plate tapering upward into a relatively long shank above and terminating between projecting lugs on the apron I). Encircling the hingelugs is a plate 6. A metallic shields extends vertically from the base to the top of the stove in the middle of the front. The top of the stove surmounting the body is convex, has a pipe-flue at the back, and an ornamental urn min the center. The base, foot-restsff, legs, and lift-door are ornamented with raised work of a conventionalized floral design, as shown.
The same general design appears also on the top of the stove, which consists of three welldefined portions-an outer elliptical flange with the raised ornamentation carried all the way around it, an inner band of about the same width, also ornamented, and a central elliptical coverhaving similar ornamentation somewhat more ornate than on the bands, its front and rear edges being scalloped and radial ridges extending from the foot of the urn corresponding to the scallops. The urn rises from the center of the top and consists of an approximately spherical body supported on a standard surmounted by a harp-shaped ornament and having 011 each side a small grille, as shown. The raised ornamentation is carried to all parts of the stove except the body proper, appearing in the variety of forms shown. The body is smooth except for the corrugations mentioned. I Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, an d desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l. The design for a stove herein described and shown.
2. In the design for a stove the design for a damper-plate, herein described and shown.
3. In the design for a stove the design for a base herein described and shown.
4. In the design for a stove the design for a top herein described and shown.
