UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD G. GERMER, OF ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR'A STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,908, dated May 30, 1899.
Application iled May 6, 1899. Serial No. 715,869. Term of patent 7 years.
To @ZZ whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD G. GERMER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Erie, in the county of Erie and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and original Design for Stoves; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and eX- act description of the invention., such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, forming part ot' this specification.
The leading lfeatures of my design consist, substantially, in the form and ornamentation of al heating-stove which `embodies a base circular in its general contour and ornamented with raised scrollwork, which base is mounted upon ornamented legs in the usual manner. Upon this base there is mounted a cylindrical stove-body having an ornamented stove door frame and door near the base thereof and an open ornamented scrollwork sloping downward and outward from the lower part of the stove-body, to which is secured a plain foot-rail. On the front of the y stove-body, above the door, there is a rectangular name-plate having a scrollwork border, and on the top of the stove-body there is a top, generally conical in shape, ornamented with scrollwork and snrinounted at its apex by an ornamented urn.
The figure shows a perspective view of a heating-stove embodying my design.
In the drawing, A is the base of the stove, which is circular in shape and slopes upward and inward from the bottomlthereof toward the stove-body B. The base A is mounted upon four legs C equidistant from each other, which are ornamented by means of raised scroll and foliate work c c. Between the legs C the lower edge of the base A curves downward and is ornamented by raised scrollwork A', portions of which extend around above the legs C.
The stove-body consists of a plain upright cylinder B, having an annular bead b there- On the front of the stove-body B, near each side of the door-frameD there is an ornamental scrollwork F, which slopes downward and outward from the stove-body B and is provided with projections fupon which is secured a plain circular footlrail G, which overhangs the upper part of the base A.
Above the door-frame D there is secured to the stove-body B a rectangular name-plate H, having an ornamental border of raised scrollwork 72. and a central ornamental ligure h. Upon the top of the stove-body B there is a stove-top I, the edge of which consists of a plain oval band I', overhanging the stovebody B, and above this band I the stove-top curves inward and upward to the base of the apex-section .I and is ornamented by raised scrollwork l2. The apex-section J is of a genera-l semiglobular shape and has a plain band J around the base thereof, above which it consists of open scrollwork J 2. Upon the apex of the section J there is mounted an urn K, the base K' of which consists of open scrollwork and the body thereof of open scroll- Work7c,witl1 a central star-shaped ligure 7o in a circle, and at the sides of the body of the urn are handles L of open scrollwork,- while the top IWI of the urn is semiglobular, ornamented with raised scrollwork m, and surmounted by an ornamental knob m.
Having thus described my new and improved design, what I claim is-'- The design for a heating-stove, substantially as herein shown and described;
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of -two witnesses.
EDWARD G. GERMER.
