DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 17,718, dated September 13, 1887.

To all whom it may concern;
Be it known that we, LAZARD KAIIN, acitizen of the United States,and RUDOLPH THIEM, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, residing in Hamilton, Butler county, Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Designs for Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying print, forming a part hereof, in
which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a stove embodying our design, and Fig. 2 a face view of one of the side panels of the flame-section.
The leading features by which our design is r 5 characterized are as follows:
The flame-section A has its sides embellished by the panels B, ornamented by the figure of a girl with musical instruments, surrounded by fanciful foliage carving, and its front, at each side the door opening, embellished by fanciful torches O.
The deflecting-ring D between the fire-section and the flamesection is concentric with the flame-section at the front and back of the stove, and at the sides of the stove is ornamented by outwardlyprojeciing lobes E.
The fuel-door Fis ornamented by an arch top having fancifnlly-beaded arch and chord moldings, the arch top having a central quarterfoil opening flanked by triangular openings and radiating foliate-work, the door having also a central rectangular three-part panel, the end portions of this three-part panel being embellished by filleting, forming a vertical series of three interlaced diamonds, and by ornamental double-ended scrolls above and below the fillet-work.
The legs G present a mitered corner embellished by heading, the side faces of the leg be- 0 ing embellished by foliate-work merging into claws at the foot of the leg.
We claim- 1. A design for a stove, as herein shown and described, embodying the flame section A,
5 having its sides embellished by the panels B,
ornamented by the figure of a girl with musical instruments, surrounded by fanciful foliatc carving, and its front, at each side the dooropening, embellished by fanciful torches O, the
deflecting-ring D, concentric with the flame- Serial No. 245,983.
Term of patent 7 yearsv section at the front and back of the stove, ornamented at the sides of the stove by ontwardly-projecting lobes E, the fuel-door F, ornamented by an arch top having fancifullybeaded arch and chord moldings, the arch top having a central quarterfoil opening flanked by triangular openings and radiating foliate work, the door having also a central rectangular three-part panel, the end portions of this threepart panel being embellished by filletiug, forming a vertical series of three interlaced diamonds, and by ornamental scrolls above and below the fillet-work, and the legs G. presenting mitered corners embellished by beading, the side faces of the legs being embellished by foliate-work merging into claws at the foot of the legs.
2. In a design for stoves. the flame section A, having its sides embellished by the panels B, ornamented by the figure of a girl with musical instruments, surrounded by a fanciful foliate carving, and its front, at each side the door-opening,embellished by fanciful torches O, as shown.
3. In a design for stoves, the deflecting-ri n g D, concentric with the flame section at the front and back of the stove, and ornamented at the sides of the stove by outwardly-projecting lobes E, as shown.
4. In a design for stoves, the fuel-door F, or namented by an arch top having fancifullybeaded arch and chord moldings, the arch top having a central qnarterfoil opening flanked by triangular openings and radiating foliatework, the door having also a central rectangular three-part panel, the end portions of this th rec-part panel being embellished by filleting, forming a vertical series of three interlaced diamonds, and by ornamental doubleended scrolls above and below the filletwork, as shown.
5. In a design for stoves, thclegs G,prescnting mitered corners embellished by heading, and faces embellished by foliate-work merging into claws at the foot of the legs, as shown.
