DESIGN FOR A COOKING STOVE OR RANGE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,955, dated June 17, 1902.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRANK J. FREY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Quincy, in the county of Adams and State of Illinois,

' have invented and produced a new and origi nal Design for Cooking Stoves or Ranges, of which the following is a specification.

The design which constitutes the subject of this invention has for its object the ornamen- 1O tation of a cooking stove or range as a whole and of the several parts thereof which are exposed to view.

The accompanying drawings illustrate the design.

Figure 1 is a perspective View of a cookingstove ornamented according to the design,and Fig. 2 being a rear elevation.

Upon the upper expanded portions of the legs are reniform ornaments a, each formed of two scrolls, the outer convolutions of which aro united. Within this ornamental design a there is arranged a shell-like design a. This ornament a a is the characteristic feature of the ornamentation of the legs.

The outer surface of the oven-door Bis covered with a bold design of scrollwork and foliated ornamentation. In this ornamentation there appears the reniform design inclosing a shell, as at Z) and I), treated differently as to details from the design a a on the legs but harmonizing therewith.

The end door of the fire-chamber Chas upon its surface foliated and scrollwork ornamentation, in which is wrought out the reniform and shell-like design, as indicated at c.

The front end of the stove below the front shelf D has at either end a conventionalized foliated ornament c.

The door F above the shelf D is ornamented with scrollwork arranged about the usual 40 draft openings and surrounding the space upon which the name of the stove usually appears.

The back plate of the stove (indicated in Fig. 2) is ornamented with scrollwork arranged to constitute a broad panel along the bottom and two side edges. I

Having thus described my new and original design and the characteristic features of the same as applied to and worked out in the several parts of a cooking stove or range,what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design for a cooking stove or range substantially as herein described and shown.
