DESIGN FOR A STOVE.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, HENRY S. HUnnELL and ALFRED S. HUnnnLL, of the city of Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented a Design for Stoves, of which the following is a specifica-tion:

The nature of our design is full represented in the following photographic ilnstration,t which reference is made.

A represents the side plate of the cast base portion of a stove, with an opening therein closed bythe door B. The central ornamented portion of the side plate has a pebbled background, slightly depressed with a peculiar scroll ornamentation in relief. Each end oi" this plate has a. vertical panel having a roughened surface, with fret ornaments in relief. The central portion of the door has also a depressed pebbled background, ornamcnted with a circle and radial ribs at thecenter, and scrolls on each side, in relief, as shown. C is the end door, the beveled .edges oi' which are formed with straight cross-ribs,while the central pcbbled surface is decorated with a dii'erent kind of scroll ornament. D is the top end of the cast base portion of the stove, the front plate D of which is raised in the form of an arch and ornamented with ribs running transversely of the stove, and by a. border, as represented. E is the top of the stove, designed to rest ou a sheet-iron body, which is itself supported on the plate D', and F is the top swinging cover. E and F have their beveled edges or cornice ornamented in a somewhat similar manner. The central portion of the cover is bounded by con centric oval ledges and depressions, while the annular space surrounding it has a pebbled. siufnce ornamented scroll-work in relief.

The distinctive features of our design are the manner of ornamenting the different parts, and the arched form and configuration of the front end of the plate D.

XVe claim- 1. The design herein shown ot' the side plate A, having an opening therein for the door B, the central ornamented portion of said pla-te having a pebbled background slightly depressed with a peculiar scroll ornamentation in relief, each end of the plate having a vertical panel with a. rongliened surface and fret ornaments in relief, as herein shown.

2. The design for the door B, consisting of the central depressed pebbled background ornamented with a circle and radial ribs, snrrounded at each end by scrolls, as shown.

3. The design for the end door C, the beveled edges formed with straight ribs, while the central portion is pcbbled and decorated with scroll ornaments, as shown.

4. The design for the top plate D, the front end raised in the form ot an arch and ornamented with ribs running transversely of the stove, and ornamented around the edge by a border, as shown.

5. The design of the top E, consisting of the ornamental borders around the edges, as shown.

6. The design of the cover F, ornamented by a border similar to that on the top plate E, and and having a central oval and surrounding pebbled and scroll ornamentation, as shown.
