Bc it known that I, GEORGE M. COOKE, of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of IVisconsin, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Stoves; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it 'pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanyin g photograph, and to the letters of ref erence marked thereon, which forms a part of this specification.
The accompanying photograph represents in perspective a parlor-heater illustrating my design.
The main parts of the stove are designated by letters and the details of ornamentation by figures.
The leading features 'of the design consist of a low dome-shaped cover A, approximately square in horizontal section, having rounded corners, a plain beveled rim or band 1 at the base, and vine and leaf-like open-work ornamentation 2 an urn B,surmounting the cover, having a vertically-beaded surface, plain horizontal bands, arabesque wings or handles 3 3 on opposite sides, and an arabesque finial 4 at the apex; a top section O, approximately square in horizontal section, having protuberant rounded corners, a plain beveled rim or band at the base, an ovolo molding 6 with circular convex ornaments at intervals at the inner upper edge around the base of the coverA, and open-work scroll and leaf-like ornamentation 7 between the rim 5 and molding 6, the general surface of said section C being curved upwardly and inwardly from the rim 5 to the molding 6; the upper body-section D, approximately square in horizontal section, hav ing a frieze or outwardly-projecting ornamentcd band 8 with protuberant rounded corners, quinquefoliate ornaments 9 at the corners, circular convex or shield-shaped ornaments 10 at the center of each side and intermediate leaf and scroll ornamentation in low relief, vertically-fluted tapering columns 1l 11 at each Corner, arch-shaped panels 12 with openswork leaf and scroll ornamentation in the sides, an arched door cl in the front panel with S-shaped leaf and scroll ornaments 13 13, placed side by side and turned in opposite directions, and an intermediate round convex figure 14, and concentric curved studded bands 15 15 and an arch-shaped band 16, consisting of two curved bars approximately parallel with the top of the door with intermediate open scrollwork; a lower bodysection E, similar in general shape and contour to the upper section D, but not so high, separated from said upper section by a hori- Zontal band 17 ,studded at intervals with circular convex figures and intermediate leaf-like ornamentation and having tapering iiuted columns 1S 18 at the corners, and open-work panels with X-shaped open scroll Ornaments 19, volute ornaments 2O in the corners, and leaf-like ornaments 21 21; an ogee-shaped base F, having scroll and leaf-like surface ornamentation in low relief, rounded corners, and a door f with a Tshaped scroll and leaf ornainent 22; a name-plate 23 between the lower body-section E and base F, having a grained or wavy-line surface and leaf-like ornaments 24 24 at the ends; footrests G G on each side of the base, having beveled ends with trifoliate ornaments 25 25, and an ornamental base skirting H, approximately square in horizontal section and curved outwardly and downwardly from the base and having rounded corners, legs h h, with pendent leaf-like ornaments 26, springing from the upper margin of the skirting,and bifoliate Ornaments 27 on the feet, and intermediate scroll and leaf-like surface ornamentation in low relief.
I claim- The design for a stove, as shown and described.
