UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS It. KENNEDY AND EDWARD J. KING, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, ASSIGNORS TO THE OO-OPERATIVE FOUNDRY COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,507, dated October 18, 1898.
Application filed August 24, 1898. Serial No. 689,434. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, THOMAS R. KENNEDY and EDWARD J. KING, of Rochester, county of Monroe, and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
Figure l is a perspective view of a stove to embodying our design; and Fig. 2, a view of the front of the stove, showing the front door and its frame.
Similar reference-numerals indicate similar parts in both figures.
The leading features of the design are the shape and ornamentation of the stove as a whole and also of the various parts, as pointed out particularly in the claims.
1 indicates the base of the stove, rounded at the top and covered with the scroll-andleaf ornamentation shown and having the curved legs 2 at the corners. Just above the base is the plain rail or band 3 at the lower part of the body and above this an ornamen- 2 5 tal oven-shelf 4.
5 indicates the oven-door, rounded at the edges and lower at the front portion than at the rear, the surface of this oven-door being provided with the scroll-and-leaf ornamenta- 0 tion in low relief, and near the front portion is the name-panel 6.
7 indicates the hearth, having at its edge the plain flange or band 8, which latter extends on the stove-body and is curved up- 3 5 ward over the front portion of the oven-door and beneath the fire-box door, as shown.
9 indicates the fire-box door, arranged over the flange or band 8 and having the scroll ornamentation thereon, as shown.
At the front of the stove above the hearth is the front door 10, having the draft-apertures 11 and the name plate or panel 12, the
space beneath and between the apertures be ing covered with the surface ornamentation shown, and 13 indicates the front-door frame, having the ornamental side portions at the ends of the door and the substantially plain surface above it, said door and door-frame being shown particularly in Fig. 2.
14 indicates the reservoir-panel at the rear end of the stove, being rounded outward at the edge next the stove-body, as shown, and having the skirt or ornamental flange 15 at the lower edge. The surface of this panel is covered with the scroll-and-leaf ornamentation in low relief, as shown.
The stove is also provided at the top with the usual plain rail or flange 16.
What we claim is 1. The design fora cookingstove, substantially as shown and described.
2. In a design fora stove the design forthe base, substantially as shown and described.
3. In a design for a stove the design for the oven-door, substantially as shown and described.
4. In a design for a stove the design for the reservoir-panel, substantially as shown and described.
5. In a design for a stove the design for the fire-box door, substantially as shown and described.
6. In a design fora stove, the design for the front door, substantially as shown and described.
