RICHARD A. CULTER AND DAVID C. PROCTER, OF PEORIA, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR COOKING-STOVES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,768, dated November 2, 1875; application filed October 1, 1875.
' [Term of Patent 7 years.]
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, RICHARD A. CULTER and DAVID C. PROCTER, both of Peoria, in the county of Peoria and State of Illinois, have jointly originated and produced a Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying engraving, making part of this specification.
The nature of our design is fully represented in the accompanying illustration of a cookingstove, called the Antelope, manufactured by our firm of GULTER 8t PROCTER, at Peoria, Illinois. Our design particularly consists in the special ornamentation of the side of the stove.
The panels A A A are adorned with arabesque bordering and the usual molding, but are distinguished above other stoves by the peculiar form of shield C, bearing for a device the medallion D, with its ornamental cross a; and the panel A is distinguished by an ornamental raised bordure, b, surrounding the shield C, and also conforming to the bounds of the door-panel, and also by the tassels 6 depending from the upper points of the shield. The panel A is substantially the same; but in the remaining panels the bordure b is omitted.
We claim 1. In a design for cooking-stores, the ornamentation herein described of the panel A, consisting of the peculiar shield C, bearing an ornamental medallion, and having the tassels c, the whole surrounded by the bordure b, as shown.
2. In a design for cooking-stove panels and doors, the shield C, bearing the ornamental medallion D, as shown.
RICHARD A. CULTER. DAVID C. PROCTER. Witnesses:
