Be itknown that we, H. CLA Y BAscoM and CYRUs A. HoDeIis, citizens of the United States, residing in the citwY ot' Troy, in the county of Rensselaer, and State ot' N ew York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for CookingStoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut,

1o print, or engraving representing our said new design.

This design embraces several new and distinct parts and combinations of parts, which go to make up the whole design, as shown in theaccompanyingillustration, and hereinafter specified.

The general shape ot' this design for cookingstoves is not very materially different from that of some others heretofore produced.

One distinctive feature of this design is the shape and ornamentation ofthe front door, A, consisting of the main upper portion, B, having the plane border a, the ornamented surface b, curved convexly froln top to bottom, and the draftapertures c, with ornamental arched tops, and the smaller lower projecting part, C, having the ornanlentcd name-band.

The oven-door D has the plane border d, raised panel-surface l, scroll-vine corner orna 3o 1nents,f, angular corner ornament, g, sprig-ornament ll, and connectingornarnents i.

rIhe design for the panel-plate E consists of the series of radial ornaments j in the plane surface k, having the subcircular border Z, with 3 5 straight extended base part The design for the panels F and G consists of the border m, raised surface n, the scrollvvine corner ornaments, o, angular corner ornament, o, and their connections, and the ceu- 40 tral ornament, p.

The whole design embraces the shape and ornamentation of the top, the front, including 5o the hearth and door A, the side, including the parts D, E, F, G, and H, and the legs.
