H. CLAY BASOOM AND CYRUS A. HODGES, OF TROY, AND TOBIAS S. HEISTER, OF LANSINGBURG, ASSIGNORS TO THE N. S. VEDDER PATTERN WORKS, BASCOM, GALBRAITH & (10., OF TROY, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,109, dated January 11, 1881.
Application filed November 24, 1880. Term of patent 3:1: years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, H. CLAY BASOOM and CYRUS A. HODGES, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New 5 York, and TOBIAS S. HEISTER, of the village of Lansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Base-Burning Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying print, out, or
engraving of a stove having our said new design.
The design for the urn consists of the inverted-pear'form ornamented body a and the 1-5 ornamented horseshoe-form crest I), having the ornamented top-extension c, with a representation thereon of a spired church, d, all shaped, ornamented, and arranged in combination so as to present the appearance represented in the accompanying cut.
The design for the panel ornament B consists of the representation of a spired church, 0, with the ornamental foregroundfand trees 9 in the background, surrounded by a frame- 2 5 like border, It, all shaped, positioned, and combined so as to appear as represented in the accoin panying engraving.
The design for the upper section, 0, consists of the panel ornaments B, composed as 0 above specified, on panels separated by the ornamented pilaster D, and having the series of three-lobed ornaments t 6 along the tops and bottoms of the panels, all being shaped and arranged together as shown in the accompanying print.
The design for the upper mica-light section consists of the convexly-curved frames E, each having the lower row of two lights, F F, each with the bottom j and sides is straight,
and the top composed of three concave arcs,
l m l, forming two downwardly-pointing angles, n n, as shown, in combination with the upper row of three smaller lights, G H G, having straight tops 0 and sides 10 and truncate 5 upper corners, q, and bottoms conformed to the tops of the lower lights, F F, whereby the middle one, B, of the upper lights has a concave bottom, 1', with angular ends, and the two side lights, G G, each have the outer part,
s, of the bottom depressed and the inner part, 0 t, longer and convexly curved upward, and forming an obtuse angle with the part 8, all being shaped, proportioned, and combined as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the side plates, I, of the rear 5 draft-flue section consists of the middle lyreforni ornament, J, and top and bottom ornaments, K, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid cut.
The design for the ash-pit section consists of the vertically concave portion M, having thereon the lower net-work ornamentation, u, the top ornamentation, a, and the intermediate lyre-form ornaments o and branched ornaments c, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the base N consists of the series of alternate ornaments w w on the convex molding a", and the border 0, having linear incuts y, and the lower edge, 2, formed with convex and concave curves and intermediate angles and straight parts, all shaped and arranged togcther as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the legs consists of the triangular downwardlypointing ornament P, having therein the angular bar P, and the compound pendentornament Q, having the circular or oval upper part and hanging stein,with lateral ornaments disposed on the swelling surface R,having the side scrolls, S, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid out.
What we claim as our invention is-- 1. The design for the urn, composed of the parts a b c d, all shaped and combined as set forth.
2. The design for the panel ornament B, composed of the parts cf g h, all shaped, placed, and combined as set forth.
3. The design for the upper section, 0, con- 0 sisting of the parts B D it, all shaped, composed, and arranged together as set forth.
4. The design for the upper mica-light section, composed of the frames E, each embracing the lower row of two lights, F F, having 5 their edges j k lm l n a shaped as shown and described, in combination with the upper row of three dilfering lights, G H G, having the 8. The design for the legs, consisting of the parts P P Q, R S, all shaped and combined as set forth.
