SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,629, dated December 27, 1881.
Application filed November 25, 1881. Term of patent T years.
To all whom `it may concern Be it known that we, H. CLAY BAseoM and OYRUS A. HODGES, each a citizen of the United States, residing in the cit \l of Troy, in the county ol' Rensselaer' and State of New York, and Tomas S. HEis'rEn, a citizen of the United States, residing in the village ofLansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for 1o Baseurner Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cnt, print, or engraringofa stove which embodies said new design.
The design i'orthe crest A is composed of the i5 upperconcave-conical part, b, havinga greater height than base-diameter, down wardly-tapering lower part, c, and intermediate iiuted por tion, d, in combination with the part e, extending along and conformed to opposite sides of 2o the part b, and having at the top tbe large central point, e. and smaller lateral points e2, and at the bottom the angular ornaments e3 and intermediate scalloped inner edges and outer edges of convexly and concavely curved form,
with intervening angles, all shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the acconr panying print.
The design for the cover B consists of the concavely-curved upper part,f, the fillet-form 3o lower part, f', and theintermediate concavelyconical part, y, having thereon the particular series of pending cord ornaments h and scroll ornaments h', all shaped and arranged togeth- .er as shown in the accompanying engraving.
The design for the panel ornament O consists of a swelled surface having parallel or nearly parallel sides at right angles, or nearly so, to a downwardly-curved lower edge, and double concave upwardly-pointing top edge,
4o and the band i, extending diagonally from corner to corner, with a semi-rosette, j, and leafj in the diagonally-opposite obtuse angles1 and the scroll-vine k, bent in a nearly circular form under and partly over the band j, and having 4 5 pinnate leaves k', all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut.
The design for the outer portion of the panel D consists of the ornamental top bar, l, side 5o scrolls, l', and looped cord m, with tassels m pending from said bar and scrolls, in combination with thc side ornaments. a, and pending cord ornaments a with drop ornaments a2, all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the upper section consists of the panel ornaments C, each shaped and composed of the ornamental parts i j j k It', as above specilied,in combination with the panels D, each having the parts l l', 'm m', and n a a2, all shaped and arranged so as to appear substantially as shownin the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the micalight door E consists ot' the one middle mica-light aperture, o, eX- tending in upwardlytapering form at the upper part, from the lower bar, p, to the upper bar, p', in combination with and between the lateral lower quadrilateral mica-ligh t apertures q g and the upper four-side mica-light openings q g, said parts o and q q qq' being separated and surrounded b v the sash-framepp' r', and all shaped and arranged together so as to present substantially theappearancc shown in the aforesaid cut.
The design for the open-work section F consists of tbe horizontal ring-like series of perforated or skeleton kidney-form ornaments s. in combination with the series of' standards s', rising from theincurved upper sides ofthe ornaments s, and united at the tops in a series of arches, with the series of ornaments t pending from the arches, and all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the lower mica-light doors, G, consists of the raised,oblong, curved,rectangu lar panels u, each formed with two mica-light apertures, o, each having parallel upright sides and obtuse-angled bottom and top edges and greater length horizontally than vertically, and surrounded and separated b v the compound moldings o', all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut.
Thedesign for the rearside flue-plate, H, consists of the upper ornament, w, lower sprig ornaments, w', and intermediate pending cordand-tassel ornaments 2v2, all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the ash-pit section I consists IOO ofthe front and lateral inclined terraced side parts, a2, having rounded (fo-rncrs, with the ornaments a" thereon, the series ot' serrato-terrace ornaments 1'?, bottom ornamental border, w, and l'ront drat'tnpertnres, w, having contracted tops, and all shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the legs consists of the upper' swelling panel, y, having the upper pending eord-nnd-drop ornament, y', and bottom ornament y, in con'ibinai ion with the lower swelling-panche, having the pending cord-anitdrop ornament e', and all shaped and arranged suhstantially as shown in the aforesaid print.

2. The design for the cover B, composed of the partsff g It h', all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
3. The design for the panel ornament C, consisting ofthe form shown, in combination with the ornamental parts ijj lr k', all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
4. The design for the outer portion of the panel D, consisting of the ornamental parts l l 'm m 'n `n n2, all shaped and arl anged together as set forth.
5. The design for the upper section, consisting of the panel ornaments U, shaped and ornamented as specified, in combination with the panels D. ornamented as described, and all arranged together as set forth.
