DESIGN FOR COOKING-STOVE.
Specification forming part of Des gn No. 8,026, dated January 26,1875; application filer December 30,1874. [Term of Patent 31} years] CASE B.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that WG,NICIIOLAS S.VE1)DER, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselacr and State of New York, FRANCIS Brrornn, of the said city of Troy, and TOBIAS S. Hurs- TER, of the village of Lansingburg, in said county of Rensselaer, New York, have jointly invented and produced anew and original Ornamental Design for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving of a cooking-stove having our said new design.
One part of this invention consists of the design for the compound panel ornament A, composed of the octagonal molding-frame b, surrounding the swelling octagonal panel 0, having the rosette d at its center, the angular standards 00, one on each side of the frame I), and enlarged toward their ends, and mounted over the upper angles of quadrilateral projecting base-blocks f f, which are connected by the bar g, hating the ornament h beneath, and the tops of the said standards 6 0 being under the scrolls i i, that extend upward to the cap ornament formed by the flowers k, leaves l, and crest m, all shaped, ornamented and combined so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid out, with or without the torWardly-projecting leaf and flower branches 0.
Another part consists of the design for the ovcn'door, composed of the compound panel ornament A on the plain surface U, and the ornamental border I, all shaped and arran ged together substantially as represented in the aforesaid engravin Another part consists of the design for the door or panel V at the end of the fire-box, composed of the compound ornament w, arranged on the plain surface or, and formed by an octagonal frame-molding, surrounding a swelling octagonal panel-surface having a central rosette, and with ornamental projections on the outer sides and top and bottom of the said frame-molding, and the ornamental border 3 formed by the vine with leaves thereon, and the whole shaped in the several parts and arranged together so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid print.
Another part consists of the design for the front door, composed of the oblong curved top tablet-panel Z, surrounded by the ornamental border a, formed by the vine with leaves and tcndrils thereon, all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid en gravin Another part consists of the design for the leg B, composed of the compound ornament j, formed of the leaves, flowers, and grapelike cluster on the convex surface p, the molding 11 having an arch at top, and inclosing the surface 11 and the side scrolls 2, all shaped and combined so as to appear as represented in the aforesaid cut.
\Vhat we claim as our joint invention is- 1. The design for the compound panel or nament A, composed of the molding-frame 1), panel 0, rosette 11, standards 0 c, base-blocks f f, bar g, ornament h, scrolls i i, flowers It, leaves I, and crest 111, all shaped, ornamented, and arranged together substantially as specified and shown.
2. The design for the oven-door, composed of the compound ornament A on the panel U, and the ornamental border 1, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
3. The design for the door or panel V, composed of the compound ornament 21*, panel w, and border y, formed by the vine and leaves, all shaped and arranged together as shown and described.
4. The design for the front door, composed of the tabletpanel Z, and the surrounding ornamental border a, formed by the vine with leaves and tendrils thereon, arranged on the narrow extended surface, and the whole shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid out or engraving.
5. The design for the leg B, composed of the compound ornamentj, surface 1), surrounding molding r, and side scrolls 2, all shaped and arranged as shown and specified.
