DESlGN FOR COOKlNG-STOVES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,004, dated January 12, l 75; application filed December 30, 1874.
[Term of Patent 3% years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NICHOLAS S. VEDDER, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, FRANCIS RITCHIE, of the said city of Troy, and Tennis S. HEIs- TER, of the village of Lansingburg, in the said county of Rensselaer, New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for OookingStoves, of which the fol lowing is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving of a cooking-stove having our said new design.
One part of this invention consists of the design for the inner panel, A, of the oven-door, composed of the curved vine with the leafbranches b, tendril-Dranches c, and flowers d, all shaped, disposed, and connected together in depressed form in the plain surface of the panel, so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
Another part consists of the design for the border ornamentation E, consisting of the fillet f, folded in zigzag form on a plain narrow border-surface, g, and with the lower or back folds h grooved, ribbed, or marked transversely, and the whole shaped and disposed so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid print.
Another part consists of the design for the oven-door, composed of the inner panel, A, ornamented by the depressed vine with leafbranches b, tendril-branches c, and flowers d, the inner border, I, having a scalloped inner edge, the inclined surfaces J around the border 1, and the outer border ornamentation, E, all formed, shaped, and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid cut.
Another part consists of the design forthe panel or door K at the end of the firebox, composed of the central ornament, l, formed by the stem and two lateral leaves, all depressed in the plain surface of the inner oblong rectangular panel, m, the inclined surface n around the panel m, and the outer border ornamentation, E, all formed, shaped, and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid print.
Another part consists'of the design for the lower front door, 0, composed of the plain panel-surface p, having therein the illuminating-windows q, with semicircular tops 1', the
scalloped paneledgin g s, and the outer border ornamentation, E, all formed, shaped, and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut.
Another part consists of the design for the upper front door, T, composed of the panel a, longer at the top than at the bottom, and with curved ends, and having therein the oblong rectangular apertures 11, the inner scalloped paneledging, 'w, and the outer zigzag-folded fillet ornamentation, E, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the afore said engraving.
Another part consists of the design for the leg X, composed of the branch leaf ornament y, depressed in the convex surface 2, the seal' loped edge-border it around the surface 2, and the lateral scroll-moldings e c, all shaped and combined as shown in the aforesaid cut.
What we claim as our joint invention is- 1. The design for the panel A of the ovendoor, composed of the vine with leaf-branches b, tendritbranches c, and flowers d, all shaped, disposed, and connected together, and depressed in the plain surface of the panel, as shown and described.
2. The design for the border ornamentation E, consisting of the fillet f, folded in zigzag form on the extended, narrow, plain surface g, and with the lower or rear folds, h, marked, and the whole shaped and disposed as specilied and shown.
3. The design for the oven-door, composed of the inner panel, A, ornamented by the depressed vine with leafbranches I), tendrilbranches 0, and flowers d, the inner border, I, the inclined surface J, and the outer border ornamentation, E, all shaped and arranged together as shown and specified.
4. The design for the panel or door K, composed of the inner panel, m, with the ornament l depressed therein, the inclined surface 11, and the outer border ormunentation, E, all formed, shaped, and arranged as shown and described.
5. The design for the lower front door, 0, composed of the panel having therein the illuminating-windows q, with semicircular tops, the scalloped edging s, and the outer border ornamentation, E, all formed, shaped, and arranged together as specified and shown.
6. The design for the inclined upper front door, '1, composed of the panel at, with the apertn res v therein,the scalloped panel-edging w, and the outer zigzag-folded fillet ornamentation, E, all formed, shaped, and arranged together as shown and described.
7. The design for the leg X, composed of the branch leaf ornament y, depressed in the convex surface 2, the scalloped edge-border a, and the scroll-n10ldings e c, all shaped and combined as shown in the aforesaid out.
