DESIGN FOR A RANGE OR COOKING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,472, dated July 17, 1888.

Application filed June '7, 1888- Scrial No. 276,4!2. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GEORGE C. BASCOM, a citizen of the United States, residing in the village of Lansingburg, in the county of Hensselaer and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Ranges or Cooking-Stoves, of which the followingis a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying engraving, forming part thereof and representing said design.

This design for a range or cookingstove embraces the shape and ornamentation of the top A; the side, including the oven-door B, fire'door (l, closet-door D, and panel E; the end, including the doors F and G and hearth portion H, the side hearth, I, the legs J, and the skirting K, substantially as shown in said engraving. The design for the oven-door B consists, essentially, of the surface b, having its border curved eonvexly, the ribbed upright and lateral bands 0 across the surface I), and the panel having its border d of a general rectangular form,with upwardly and downwardly extendingangles d, and arranged between the inner ends of the bands 0, as shown, with the ornament e.

The design for the five sided fire-doorC con sists, essentially, of the surface f, having its border curved convexly, the central quadrilateral ornamental panel, g, and the bands It, extending laterally, upwardly, and downwardly from the angles of said panel, with or without the ornaments t i.

The design for the rectangular closet-door D consists, essentially, of the surface having its border curved convexly, ornamented panel k, of a general rectangular form, with upward and downward angles k, and the bands Z, extending laterally, upwardly, and downwardly from the sides of said panel irrespective of the ornaments l.

The design for the panel E consists, essentially, of the surface m, having its border curved convexly and shaped in outline as shown, the central quadrangular ornamented panel, a, the bands 0, radiating across the surface m from the angles of said panel, and the upper ornament, p, irrespective of the ornaments q The design for the legs consists of the convexly-eurved broad upper portion, 1', having the rosette ornament s, and sprig ornaments t, and the narrow lower portion, a, curved coneavely and convexly and having the orna- 5 ment '0.

The design for the skirting K consists of the shape of the ornamental lower border, to w, the middle rosette, 0c, and the leaf ornaments 3 arranged as shown.

What I claim is 1. The design for a stove or range, embracing the top A, the side, including the doors B O D and panel E, the end, including the doors F G and hearth portion H, the hearth I, the legs J, and the skirting K, shaped and ornamented substantially as shown.

2. In a design for a stove or range, the shape and ornamentation of the body portion, embracing the top A, the side,including the doors B C D and panel E, and the end, including the doors F G and hearth portion H, substantially as shown.

3. In a design for a stove or range, the shape and ornamentation of the side, embracing the doors B O D and panel E, substantially as shown.

4. In a design for a stove or range, the shape and ornamentation of the oven-door B, embracing the surface Z), bands 0, panel-border d, and ornament e, substantially as shown and described.

5. In adesign for a stove or range, the shape and ornamentation of the firedoor (1, cmbracing the surface f, ornamented panel g, and bands h, substantially as shown and described.

6. In a design for a stove or range, the shape and ornamentation of the closet-door D, embracing the surface j, ornamental panel 70, and bands 1, as shown and described.

7. In a design for a stove orrange, the shape and ornamentation of the panel E, including the surface m, ornamented panel a, bands 0, and ornament p, as shown and described.
