DESIGN FOR A GOOKINGSTVE Specification forming part of Design No. 7,00*?, dated December 2, 1873 application filed September 12,1873. [Term of Patent 3% years] To all whom t 'may concern.'
Be it known that we, NIGHGLAS S. VD= Dna and FRANCIS RITOHIE, residents of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Ornamental De sign for Cooking-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying engraving of a cookingstove which embodies our said new design.
One part of our invention consists of the design for the compound ornament P for an oven-door panel, which has its lower part extended forward of its upper portion; the said. compound ornament P being composed of the plain, convex, oval center-piece, having a ilowering branch thereon, the lateral standards bearing vine-like scroll-work ornamentations, united below and above the oval center-piece, and supporting at the top a shell-like cap, and the vine-like owering branches g, extending .from the lower front side onto the lower forwardly-extended portion ofthe panel, and the whole shaped, ornamented, and arranged together so as to appear substantially as represented in the accompanying woodcut or engraving.
Another part consists of the design for the compound panel border S, composed of the outer convex and `inner concavo-convex united moldings t, the row of internally-ornamented obtuse triangular projections u alongV the inner side of the united moldings t, and the acute angular projections o in the corners, all shaped, ornamented, and arranged so as to appear substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut. f
Another part of our invention consists of the design for the rectangular panel or door at the end of the fire-chamber, as distinguished by the compound panel ornament R, composed of the swelling oval centerpiece and lateral pointed standards, connected above and below the voval center -piece by arched scroll-work ornamentations, in combination withthecompoundbordercomposedoftheouter convex and inner concave and convex united moldings, with rows of obtuse triangular projections along the inner edges of the moldings and acute projections in the corners, and all shaped, ornamented, and arranged so as to sign for the legs shown in the accompanying engraving.
What we claim as our joint invention is l. The design for the compound ornamentV P, composed of the several parts herein specitied, all shaped and arranged together and upon a panel having the lower part extended forward of the upper portion, substantially as represented in the accompanying illustrative cut or engraving.
2. The design for the compound panel-border S, composed of the outer convex and inner concave and convex united moldings t, and the row of inside obtuse angular projections u, with acute angular projections o in the corners, substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut.
3. The design for the panel or door'at the end of the fire-chamber, consisting of the compound panel ornament R and the ornamental panel-border, each composed and both shaped and arranged together, on and around the panel, substantially as shownv and described.
4. Thedesign for the front door W, consisting of the tablet m with arched top, and the compound border, composed of the iiat outer iillet and inner concave and convex moldings z, and the row of obtuse angular projections y, with acute angular projections in the lower corners, as represented in the engraving.
