DESIGN FOR PARLOR-STOVES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,861, dated December 2l, 1575; application tiled December l0. 1575. Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NICHOLAS S. VEDDER and FRANCIS RITGHIE, both ot' the city of Troy, in the county ot Rensselaer and State ot' New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original ornamental Design for Illuminating Maga-zine Parlor-Stoves, ot' which the following is a specilication, reference being had to the accompanying photograph of a stove having our said new design.
Our design for the urn consists of the body A, of general ovate form, with convex moldings b at top, and having on its sides tendril impressions c, flanking an ovate letter-space, d, surrounded by a corresponding twist-molding, d', and also having side stems with top ornaments e, and extended with scalloped edgings e along the ovate body, nd all shaped and combined substantialliv as represented in the aforesaid photograph.
Our design for the cover F, on which the urn is mounted, consists of the outer broad, smooth, somewhat inclined fillet g, the adjacent convex molding k, ornameuted around u nd upon its lower part, the lllet g', and the convex molding z', having the series of upwardly and inwardly pointing ornamental projections i ou and around its lower part, and all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the accompanying photographic representation.
Our design for the top plete J consists of the broad outer fillet k, the convex molding k', and the narrow inner fillet l, with the row ot' small ornamental projections L along the base of the latter lillet, and the series ot' baseunited and edge ornamented upwardly direeted projections m along and upon the lower portion ot' the molding k', all shaped and arranged substantially as shown by close inspection in the aforesaid photograph.
Our design for the main panel ornaments N of the cylindrical upper section consists of the twist-molding outer portion o, of oblong forni1 with rectangular shoulders and tongues ol at top and bottom, and the inclosed intaglio ornamentation p, with angular projections p1 at the sides, and tendril ornament-s p2 at top and bottom, and the inclosed central doubledagger ornament q, all shaped |and arranged substantiall,1 as shown in the aforesaid representation.
Our design ior the cylindrical upper section R consists of the several compound panel ornaments J,co|nposed as above specified, the intel'- mediate tendrii ornaments s, and pointed ornaments s', and the top and bottom obliqnelyribbed border moldings t, all shaped and arranged together so as to present substantially the same ornamental appearance as is represented in the aforesaid photograph.
Our design for the upper rim-plates B Bl B2 of the hase, lire-pot, and combustion-cham ber sections consists ot' the broad smooth outer baud O, the beveled corner-niiet l), the inner convex molding E, and the series of upwardly-pointing ornamentations u upon and around the lower portion ofthe moldingl l5, all shaped, proportioned, and arranged together as shown in the photograph aforesaid.
Our design for the doors G ol1 the combustion-chamber section consists ot' the windowsash having circularly-arched tops und ornamental twist-molding f, and surmounted by a cap having an obtuse-angled central top, u, pendants ul, and side scrolls n?, all shaped and arranged substantiallvas shown in the aforesaid photograph.
Our design t'or the upper tine-section H consists ot' the ornamental side-panel border. composed of alternate upright and horizontal straight. parts o and intervening concave portions r', and inclosing a plain surface, having thereon the four-way-spreiuling ornament zo, all shaped and arranged as represented in the aforesaid photograph.
Our design for the doors l ot' the tire-pot section consists ot' the two quadrilateral united wimlow-i'rames .n oi' each door, wider at the top than at the bottom, and swelling outward in convex forni from bottom to top, and each oruamented by thecontinuously separate twistmoldings x, and both surmonnted in the middle by the double-scroll ornamento, all shaped and arranged together, as `shown in the photograph aforesaid.
Our design for the tire-pot and lniddle duesection K consists oi the upper outwardlyllaring part L and the broader swelling lower portion M, surrounded hy the ornamental borders j, composed ot ornamented broad con- Vex parts, alternatingI with dot-like portions, and the ornamental ianel-moldiuga and panel ornament il', all shaped and arranged as represented in the aeeompanring photograph.
Our design t'or the ash-pit section O consists ot' the ornamental border l, upon and arouml the lowerdownwardlytlaringpoltioli,lietweeu the beads r and i" and the ornaments y and y on the broader concave upper portion, all shaped and arranged substantially as repre sented in the aforesaid photograph.
Our design for the hase. Q consists ot the broad outer tillet S, the broad convex molding T, haring the series ot'ornamentations m on and arouml its lower part, the fillet U, har ing the series of ornaments a. on and around its lower part., the fiat horizontal band Y, and the broad inner convex molding Z, all shaped, proportioned, and arranged together substantiallgv as represented in the photograph aforo said.
Our design for the legs consists of the two broad side scrolls YV and central ornament V, united and disposed upon the convex surface X, having,r an initial letter thereon` and thc i'ootscrollsz, all shaped and arranged as shown in the atoresaid representation.
