To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, RODNEY F. ScIIER; MERHORN and FERDINAND S. \VELLFR. both citizens of the United States, and residing at the city of Quincy, county of Adams, and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying engraving of a l'ieating-stove having said design.
This design embraces several new and distinctive parts and combinations of parts which go to make up the whole design, as hereinaf ter specified.
One integral part of this design is the shape and ornamentation of the swing-top B, which ornamentation consists of the raised broken line a, having the tripartite ornament I) in the space above the same, with the central projection thereof projecting into the breaks in the line a.
A further distinctive part of this design consists of the lobate compound ornament c below the line a and between the breaks in the same.
A further distinctivepart of this design consists of the horizontal row of upturned scallops d below the ornaments c, and of another row of different upturned scallops, e, below the row (2, all as shown.
A further distinctive part of this design consists of the shape and ornamentation of the top plate O, which ornamentation consists of the raised rustic \vorkf and the row of beads g, displayed horizontally upon the top plate 0 and below the row of beads g of the polished beveled edge A, all as shown.
A further distinctive part of this design is the shape and ornamentation of the collar D, which ornamentation consists of the row of trefoils h and the row of perpendicular furrows 2' immediately below the row of trefoils h, as shown.
A further distinctive part of this design is the shape and ornamentation of the door-plate E, which ornamentation consists of the raised panel F, of rectangular form, having the plain projection j at the end thereof and the ornamental projection in at the center of the top, the row of upturned scallops I along the top,
and a row of rosettes and eight-pointed stars, five in all, alternating upon the face thereof, and a row of downturncd scallops, m, along the base of Said panel i Another part relates to the ornamentation of the door-scat G, which ornamentation consists of horizontal furrows 1: upon four sides thereof round about the door, surrounded by the perpendicular columns H and horizontal connecting-panel I, the column H having the plain base 0, the raised panel p, with rough face, and the swelling capital q, and the panel I having a rough face with two rosettes and two eight-pointed stars displayed thereon, and the raised compound ornament r above and near either end thereof. and a row of buttons, 3, below the lower border thereof, as shown.
A further distinctive part of this design is the shape and ornamentation of the lower part of the door-frame plate J, which ornamentation consists of the raised panels K at either upper corner thereof, said panels K having a rough face and qualter-rosettes I: in each corner, and the raised eight-pointed star a in the center thereof.
Another part relates to the rough surface L, of configuration as shown, and the horizontal row of buttontipped scallops r at the base thereof.
Another part relates to the raised panel M at the base of the name-plate, with an eightpointed star, a rosette, and an eight-pointed star displayed in a horizontal row upon the rough face thereof, as shown.
A further distinctive part of this design is the ornamentation of the fire-door N, which ornamentation consists of the square flat face 0, divided into four large square mica lights, 10 w w w, as shown.
A further distinctive part of this design consists of the shape and ornamentation of the base P. which ornamentation consists of the row of furrows 00 upon the rising convex portion of the top plate Q, and the raised bars y upon the horizontal portion of the top plate Q.
Another part relates to the ornamentation of the side of the ash-box R, with the raised beveled compound ornament z in the center thereof, surrounded by raised horizontal bars (KM 8p) 0 above and below, and having the raised semicircular perpendicular bars I) at either end, the lower bar a terminating, in the outpointing raised projections c, and having in pointing raised quarter-rosettes d, with the raised triangular ornament c at the center of either end of said side It. all displayed upon the rough face S.
Auot her part relates to the ornamentation ot' the corner-plate T, which ornamentation consists of the raised beveled compound central ornament, U, displayed upon the rough surface Y, which rough surface V has the cor ners finished, as shown.
Another part relates to the shape and Oma mentation of the aslrdoor \V, which is of rectangular form, with the surface swelled in part and in part flat, as shown, the flat portion divided into seven perpendicular rows of rectangles, f, the outside rows and alternate iiiside rows whereof have in each corner of each rectangle a quarter-rosette, g, and in the center thereof the raised rosette h, as shown.
A further distinctive part of this design eonsistsof the shape and ornamentation of the sub-base, which ornamentation consists of the open-work plate X, of form shown, with the shield Y in the center thereof, h? ving, the figure i, raised and of conventional design, displayed upon the rough face thereof.
Another part relates to the design for the top of the legs, consisting of the raised panel Z, of rectangular shape, with two rosettes, j,
