DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
SPECIFlCATION forming part of Design No. 16,145, dated July 7, 1885.
Application filed May 25, 1885. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, H. CLAY BliscoM, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, and TOBIAS S. HEISTER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the village of Lansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Stoves, of which to the following is a specification, reference being to the accompanying out, print, or engraving of a stove having our said new design.
This design embraces new and distinctive ornamental figures and forms and combinations thereof, which go to make up the whole design, as hereinafter stated.
One distinctive part of this design is the shape and ornamentation of the top A, embracing the quadrilateral lower portion, a, the
conveXly-eurved upper border part, 6, having a semi-rosette in the middle of each side, leaf ornaments on the corners, and intermediate fern-leaf and fioret ornamentations, and the concavely-curved portion 0, having rosettes at 2 5 the corners and at the middle of the sides, and
intermediate festoon ornamentations, substantially as shown. Another part is the shape and ornamental configuration of the four-light illumination-doors 0 and O, the same be 0 ing of a general quadrilateral shape, with reentering anglesf at the outer upper corners, the angular and concavelyeurved and ornamented inwardly projecting upper corner parts, 9, the central radial ornamentation, h,
5 and the other corner ornaments, h. Another part is the ornamentation of the rectangular door or panel E of the rear extension, the same consisting of the inner rectangular panel, j, having therein the radially-quartering fern- 4o leaf and frond form compound ornamentation j, and the outer rectangular panel, is, having therein the compound fern-leaf and trifid corner ornamentations, k.
The ornamental design for the main front and side body-plates G and H, embraces the corner pilasters, D, having the elongated compound ornaments i, the round top, front, and side panels,B and m, having the ornaments d, e, and m, respectively, the ornamented upper corner panels, 0, and the lower side panel, l, having the rosette and fern-leaf ornament l.
A further compound part consists of the shape and ornamentation of the front of the main section, embracing the ornamental plate or panel B, the pair of four-light doors C, the pair of two light doors F, and the main plate G, with the bordering front pilasters, as shown.
A further compound part consists of the shape and ornamentation of the side of the main section,embracing the ornamented four-light door C, and the main plate H, having the ornamenteclpanels land in and lateral side pilasters, as shown. Another part is the shape and ornamentation of the top plate, I, of the base-section, the same being of rectangular form in 6 front, and having the raised inner molding,p, and the tern-form lateral ornamentations q, as shown.
The design for the side and front of the base-section embraces the ornamented corner pilasters, L, the side panel, J, having the rosette and fern-leaf ornaments r s, and the front door or panel, K, having the ornaments t and u.
The design for the basesection embraces 7 5 the shape and ornamentation of the top plate.
I, panel J, door K, corner pilasters, L, and hearth-plate M, substantially as shown.
Another distinct part of this design is the shape and ornamentation of the legs N, embracing the central rosette v at the corner,and the fern-leaves w on the sides of the angular upper part, and the festoons m on the swellirg lower portion,combined with the skirtings U, which are shown between the legs,and are ornamented by the central rosette y, with lat eral fern-leaves y, and the lower border festoons, z.
The whole design embraces the shape and ornamentation of the top A, the main front, including the panel B, doors 0 F, and main plate G, the mainside, including the door C and main plate H, the rear extension, including the door E, the base-section, including the top plate, I, side panel, J, door K, corner pil- 9 3 asters, L, and hearth M, and the legs N, and skirtings O,substantially as represented in the accompanying illustration.
We claim as new- 1. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the top A, consisting of the parts a, b, and e, as shown and described.
2. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation oi the illumination-doors G and G, embracing the parts 1 g hh, as shown and described.
3. In a design for a stove, the ornai'nci'itation of the rectangular door E, consisting of the parts j j 70 k, as set forth.
4. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the main front and side plates G and H, embracing the ornamental corner pilastcrs, D i, and panels 13, d, e. m, m, 0, and Z l, as set forth.
5. In a design for a stove, the shape and or nainentation of the front of the main section, embracing the parts B C F, and main )late (i, with the bordering front pilasters, ass iown and described.
6. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the side of the main section, embracing the door (1, and the plate H, having the ornamented panels I m and the lateral pilasters, as shown and described.
7. In a design for a stove, the shape and ornamentation of the top I of the base-section,
embracing the parts p and q, as shown and described.
8. In a design for a stove, the ornamentation of the side and front of the base-section, embracing the ornamental eornerpilasters, L, and panels J r s and K t n, as shown and described.
9. In a design for astove, the shape and ornamentation of the base-section, embracing the parts I, J, K, L, and M, as set forth.
10. In a design for a stove,the shape and ornamentation of the combined legs N, and skirtings O, embracing the parts v w m and y y .2, as shown.
11. The design for a stove, embracing the shape and ornamentation of the top, the front and side of the main section, the rear extension, the base-section, and the combined legs and skirting, substantially as set forth. 7
