DeslGN FCR cooKlNG-RANGES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,838, dated December 14, 1875; application filed December 3, 1875. [Term of Patent 3i years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NICHOLAS S. VED- DER, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State ofv New York, and T0- BIAS S. HEISTER, of Lansingburg, in Said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original ornamental Design for Cooking-Ranges, ofWhich the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying wood-cut, print, or engraving of a cooking-range having our said new design.
One part of our invention is the design for the panels of the doors, the same consisting of the retrosinuous rectangular ornamentation A along the border of the plain surface B, and the compound ornament O, arranged on the middle part of the surface B, and composed ofthe central ornamentation d on the oblong plain surface c, having concave ends and obtuse-angled projections at the middle of the sides, and surrounded by the moldingf, with the three -part ornamentations g projecting from the concave ends, and the scalloped edg ings h along the lateral projecting parts, all shaped and disposed so as to appear substantially as represented in the aforesaid Woodcut.
Another part of our invention is the design for the outer portion of the doors, the same being composed of the inner retroverted rectangular linear ornamentation A, the concave surface I immediately around the part A, and the outer border, composed of the linlrlike side parts J and the transversely-grooved augular parts K, .connected by the diamond ornaments l, all shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
A further part of this invention is the design for the doors, consisting of the compound central ornament C, composed as above speci fied, the surface B, the retroverted ornamentation A, the concave surface I, and the borand arranged substantially as represented in the aforesaid engraving.

. What We claim as our invention isl. The design for the door-panels, consisting of the ornamental border A and central ornament C, composed and shaped as specilied, and arranged in respect to the surface B as set forth.
2. The design for the outer portion of the doors, consisting of the inner border A, concave surface I, and outer border, composed of the parts J K l, as set forth.
3. The design for the doors, consisting of the compound ornament O, surface B, inner border A, surface I, and outer border, composed of the parts J K l, as described.
4f. The design for the front end, consisting of the flat surface M, raised slotted surface N, with rounded ends o, ornaments p, and door Q, substantially as described.
