DESIGN FOR STOVE-PLAT1-38.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all whom 'it may concern:

Be lit known that we, NICHOLAS S. VEDDER, of Troy, and TOBIAS S. HEISTER, of Lansingburg, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced certain new and original features in Designs for Stove-Plates, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photographie represent-ation of a box-stove having our new design.

One new feature of our design is the compound ornament, a b o, shaped and arranged upon, and cast with, a stove-plate, so as to appear substantially as represented in and by the aforesaid photograph.

Another distinguishing feature of our said design is the ornamental frame-like molding (l e f, having the various portions thereof shaped and arranged to-V gether, and all cast with, and forming a part of, a stove-plate, so as to present substantially the same appearance as is represented in the said photograph.

The combination of a central ornament, a b c, and ornamental frame el e f, all shaped and arranged together upon, and cast in one piece with, a stove-plate, so as to appear substantially as shown in the said photograph, constitutes another feature of our design.

In carrying out this design on various stoves, we

apply the compound ornament a b c alone, or only the ornamental frame d e f, or both in combination, and with or Without other ornalnental devices; and we modify the shape of those parts of our design in applying them to stove-plates of different forms and sizes, as is illustrated in the application thereof to the side plate G and front door H of the stove in the accompanying photograph.

What we claim as our invention and production, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. The compound ornament a b c, shaped and arranged upon, and cast with, a stove-plate, as herein described and shown.

2. The frame-like ornament d o f, shaped and disposed upon, and forming a part oi, a stove-plate, as shown and described.

3. The combination of the central ornament a b c and frame-like ornament cl e f, shaped and arranged together upon, and east with, a stove-plate, substantially as herein shown and described.
