DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.

Specification forming part of Design No. 5,859, dated May 14, 1872.

SPEOIFIGATION.

To all whom it may concern:

Be'it known that we, NICHOLAS S. VEDDER, of the city of Troy in the county of Rousselaer and State of lNew York, and TOBIAS S. HEISTER, of Lansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a Design for (looking Stoves and Ranges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph of a cooking-stove, which embodies the distinguishing features of our said design.

One part of our invention consists of the medallion representation A, in imitation of the bust of George \Vasllington, surrounded by the ornamental molding or frameB, and shaped and arranged on a door or plate of a stove or range so as to appear substantially as represented in the said photograph. Another part of our invention consists of the combination of the medallion bust A, panel-molding B, and border-molding O, all shaped and arranged together on a door or plate of a stove or range, so as to appear substantially as shown in the photograph. Another part of our invention consists of the combination of the shield D and radiations E, shaped and arranged together on a panel of a stove or range, when that panel is surrounded by an ornamental border-molding, all so as to appear as shown in the photograph'aforesaid. Another part of our invention consists of the Words Solar Stove-Works, composed of letters shaped and arranged together on a plate or plates of a stove or range so as to present an ornamental appearance, substantially the same as is shown at F in the photograph. Another part of our invention consists of the word Washington, when composed of letters shaped and arranged together upon and forming a part of the ornamental design of a stove or range, as shown in the aforesaid photographic representation.

What we claim as new, in ornamental designs for stoves and ranges, is-- The combination of the figure A and on namental frame or molding B, as described.

2. The combination of the bust A, panelinolding B, and border-molding O, as described.

3. The combination of the shield D and radiations E, when arranged on a panel surrounded by the ornamental border-molding, as shown and described.

4. The words Solar Stove-\Vorks, composed of letters shaped and arranged together on a plate or plates of a stove or range in the ornamental manner herein set forth.

5. The word iVashington, composed of letters shaped and arranged together upon and forming a part of the ornamental design of the stove or range, as shown and described.
