CALVIN FULTON, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK.
Design No. 3,409, dated Ma/rch 23, 1869.
DESIGN FOR .A STOVE.
MVO-
To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CALVIN FULTON, of the city of Rochester, county of Monroe, and State of New York, have originated and produced a certain new and original Design for Stoves; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
The stove to which this design applies, is of that kind known as base-burning.
In the drawingsa is the base, which is an ornamental rim, of slightly Haring form.
Above this is situated the casing b of the ash-pit, which forms the frusturn of a cone, as shown, being ornamented or beaded, as usual.
Above this is situated a projecting plate, C, for the attachment of the pipe, and this plate is su'rmounted by a reverse frustnm of a cone, d, which is composed of a series of open arches,f f, that allows a free passage ofthe air through, to come in contact with the fire-pot.
Next above this casing, is situated a projecting plate,
g, surmounted with daring case h, having the usual windows or panels, fi fi.
Above this is the ordinary cylindrical drum k, and finally the ornamental top, l, with urn m.
Other stoves, somewhat similar in contour to this, have been before known, for instance, the top l, drum k, and ease h. These parts, in my design, combine only with the others in making up the whole.
The reverse frusta of a cone, l) d, present special novelty, and by their contrast are pleasing to the eye.
rlhe panelling or arches ff also present a pleasing appearance.
The effect is much better than where the ash-pit is simply vert-ical or straight, and the covering or casing of the fire-pot a plain surface, as in other stoves.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for stoves, as herein set forth.
C. FULTON.
