DESIGN FOR PARLOR-STOVE.

Specification forming part of Design No. 9,320, dated May 30, 1876; application filed May 10, 1876. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern v Be it known that I, WALTER W. STANARD, of the city of Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Par lor-Stoves, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference Vbeing had to the accompanying photographic illustration, making part of this specic'ation.

My invention relates to a design for the general configuration and ornamentation of a parlorstove of castdrou.

The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is here made.

A represents the top cover; B, the top ring, C, the ring connecting the latter with the case D surrounding the magazine; E, the frame of the combustionrliamber; F, the mica Windows arranged in the doors thereof; G, the frame surronndin g the fire-pot, and H the mica doors thereof; I, the top plate of the ash-pit; K, the case ofthe latter; L, the door thereof; M, the base-plate, and N the legs of the stove.

The top cover of A is provided with au ornamental hexagonal urn or vase, a, having handles a', the lower parts of which are made drawn inward over the top ofthe vase, as clearly shown.

The top ring B is formed with a plain edge or face, and provided on the adjacent convex portion with a circular band of ornaments, b.

The connecting-ring C is made in the form of an ogee molding, and provided with anar row band of ornaments, o.

The case D is divided into several panels or fields by vertical hands d, provided withinclined parallel corrugations or ribs. Each field is provided with three columns in bassrelief, connected at the top by ornaanented double arches, the space between each pair of columns being embellished with 'a sunk ornament, d' as clearly represented. A narrow band of arrow-shaped ornaments is arranged around the upper and lower edge 'of the case D. The ring D' at the lower edge of between the the case D is ornamented in the saine manner as the top ring B.

The frame E4 of the combustion-chamber and the frame G surrounding the fire-pot are divided into the saine number of panels as the case D by vertical corrugated bands corresponding with the bands of the case D, and the ring Ef, arranged at the lower edge of the frame E, and theftop plate I of the ash-pit, are ornamented substantially in the same manner as the top ring B. Each of the panels of the frame E is provided with a door having two mica windows, F F, the tops of which are made semicircular, while their bases are straight, with'a small circular arch in the center thereof. A narronr band of ornaments is a-rrranged at the junction of the Win dows F with the frame E, and at the top the windows are provided with ornaments resembling clusters of grapes.

Each of the fields of the lower frame G is providedwith a door, composed of two mica Windows, the lower corners of which are made rectangular, while their upper corners are broken or beveled, as clearly shown. The faces of the window-frames are provided with parallel inclined ribs or corrngations and a narrow band of ornaments is arranged around the outer edge of the Window-frames.

The case K of the ash-pit is made of a concave cylindrical form, and provided with several panels, R, the top of which is formed by a number of intersecting arches, and which are provided on their plain surface with a 'sunk ornament, as clearly shown. The space anels k is einbellishedwith checkered wor the squares being alternately smooth and ribbed. Below the top-plate I of the ash-pit is arranged a band ci' pendent ornaments, resembling clusters of grapes.

The base-plate M is provided with three bands of ornaments of different width, the lower one being the widest, the next higher one of less width, and the upper band the narrowest.
