DESIGN FOR STOVES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,930, dated November 26, 1878; application filed November 15, 1878. [Term of patent 31} years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NICHOLAS S. Vnnnnn, of the city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, and TOBIAS S. Hnrs'rnn, of the village ofLansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original ornamental Design for Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving of a stove having our said new design.
One part of this invention is the design for the top B, consisting of the outer border-moldin g a, oblong convex portion 1), having thereon the surrounding series of oblong pointed panelmoldings 0, having scalloped inner edges and inclosing the vinelike ornamentations (I, and the central series of radial angular scallopededge moldings c, all shaped and arranged to gether as shown in the aforesaid print.
Another part of this invention is the design for the upper front portion, A, consisting, essentially, of the lateral pilasters f f, having thereon the cruciform ornaments g on the bases, the ornaments h on the capitals, and the compound ornaments i on the columns, in :ombination with the compound panel ornainentj, composed of the ornamental frame-like border k, the basket-work ground I, and the ornamental tablet m, all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut.
Another part is the design for the end door, C, consisting of the outer border-molding having an arched top, 11, the corner ornaments o 0, and the compound panel ornament 19, composed of the ornamental frame-like border q, basket-work ground r, inner fillet-like moldings, and central ornament s, all shaped and arranged together substantially as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
Another part is the design for the lower section of the stove, consisting of the lateralfront pilastcrs t t, having thereon the basket-work ground t, top and bottom scroll and pinnate ornaments t and central ornamental panel t in connection with the end panel 4:, having the frame-like border, with truncate upper eorners o and inner scalloped edging o, and the central compound ornament, 41 all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid out.
Another part is the design for the front door, D, consisting of the three upper rouud-top apertures 1r, ornamental border as, having inwardly truncated corners ac and scalloped edging m and the interior ornamentations a, in combination with the lower four round-top openings y, with surrounding linear ornaments z, and intervening compound scroll and trilid ornaments z, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
lVe do not claim the design for the legs, nor the design for the vase at the top.
\Vhat we claim as our invention is 1. The design for the top B, consisting of the parts a, b, c, d, and c, shaped and arranged as described.
2. The design for the upper front portion, A, consisting of the parts ff, 9 h i, and j k, l m, as described.
3. The design for the end door 0, composed of the parts n, 0 0' q r s s, all shaped and arranged as shown and described.
4. The design for the lower section of the stove, consisting of the parts t t t t t and a o o o, as shown and described.
5. The design for the front door, D, consisting of the parts 10, w 0: char y,zz, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
