Abstract

Se proporciona una composición de poliol oligomérico que tiene (a) una red oligomérica que contiene residuos de al menos un compuesto aromático polihidroxilado y residuos de al menos un poliol que tiene al menos tres grupos hidroxilo; y (b) múltiples grupos periféricos que tienen uno o más grupos hidroxilo colgantes unidos a la red oligomérica por múltiples unidades de enlace. Los residuos del poliol pueden contener opcionalmente uno o más grupos éter de oxígeno, uno o más grupos amino éter, o ambos, uno o más grupos éter de oxígeno y uno o más grupos amino éter. La reacción de los polioles oligoméricos con monómeros de isocianato proporciona una nueva clase de poliuretanos que tienen una resistencia superior al calor y al agua. Los nuevos poliuretanos presentan picos exotérmicos más bajos, típicamente menores de 250 ? durante la polimerización en molde. Los artículos preparados a partir de poliuretanos que incorporan tales composiciones de poliol oligomérico presentan resistencias a la flexión y módulos superiores a 10,000 psi y 400,000 psi respectivamente, y una resistencia en verde sobresaliente.
