Description
(a)第1のウオッシュコート領域の上に配置又は支持される(例えば図2、4及び5参照);及び/又は
(b)基材の上に直接配置される[即ち第2のウオッシュコート領域は基材の表面と接する](例えば図1、3、4参照);及び/又は
(c)第1のウオッシュコート領域と接する[即ち第2のウオッシュコート領域は第1のウオッシュコート領域と隣接又は境界を接する]。
(i)第2のウオッシュコート領域の上に配置又は支持される(例えば図3及び4参照);及び/又は
(ii)基材の上に直接配置される[即ち第1のウオッシュコート領域は基材の表面と接する](例えば図3及び4参照);及び/又は

(a)第2のウオッシュコート領域が基材の入口端に配置された第2のウオッシュコートゾーンであり、任意選択的に第1のウオッシュコート領域が基材の出口端に配置された第1のウオッシュコートゾーンであるとき;
(b)第1のウオッシュコート領域が第1のウオッシュコート層であり、第2のウオッシュコート領域が第2のウオッシュコートゾーンであり、第2のウオッシュコートゾーンが基材の入口端において第1のウオッシュコート層の上に配置されるとき;又は
(c)第1のウオッシュコート領域が第1のウオッシュコート層であり、第2のウオッシュコート領域が第2のウオッシュコート層であり、第1のウオッシュコート層が第2のウオッシュコート層の上に配置されるとき、
第1のウオッシュコート領域と接触する前の排気ガスと接触するように配置又は配向される。
(a)第3のウオッシュコート領域の上に配置又は支持されうる(例えば図6、8及び10参照);及び/又は
(b)基材の上に直接配置されうる[即ち第2のウオッシュコート領域は基材の表面と接する];及び/又は
(c)第3のウオッシュコート領域と接しうる[即ち第2のウオッシュコート領域は第3のウオッシュコート領域と隣接又は接触する]。
「ウオッシュコート」という用語は、当技術分野において周知であり、通常酸化触媒の製造の間に、基材に塗布される接着性コーティングを指す。
(a)基材の入口チャネルの閉鎖端(例えば遮蔽又は閉塞された端部)よりも入口チャネルの入口端(例えば開放端)に近いウオッシュコートゾーン、及び/又は
(b)基材の出口チャネルの出口端(例えば開放端)よりも出口チャネルの閉鎖端(例えば遮蔽又は閉塞された端部)に近いウオッシュコートゾーン
を指す。
(a)基材の出口チャネルの閉鎖端(例えば遮蔽又は閉塞された)よりも出口チャネルの出口端(例えば開放端)に近いウオッシュコートゾーン、及び/又は
(b)基材の入口チャネルの入口端(例えば開放端)よりも入口チャネルの閉鎖端(例えば遮蔽又は閉塞された端部)に近いウオッシュコートゾーン
を指す。
シリカでドープされたアルミナ粉末を、水中においてスラリー化し、d90<20ミクロンまで粉砕した。酢酸バリウムをスラリーに加え、続いて適量の可溶性白金及びパラジウム塩を加えた。スラリーが、シリカでドープされたアルミナとゼオライトとを、質量でそれぞれ78%と22%含むように、ベータゼオライトを加えた。次いでスラリーを撹拌して均質にした。得られたウオッシュコートを、確立されたコーティング技術を用いて、一平方インチ当たり400個のセルを有するコーディエライトフロースルーモノリスの入口チャネルに塗布し、次いで乾燥した。

NO酸化の測定
実施例1及び2の触媒からコアの試料を採取した。すべてのコアは、750℃のオーブンで15時間にわたり熱水的に「老化」させた。更にコアを取り、「新品の」状態に保った(即ちオーブンによる熱処理を行わずに)。
SCATの結果を以下の表2及び3に示す。
第1のスラリーを、以下のように調製した:シリカ−アルミナ粉末を水中においてスラリー化し、d90<20ミクロンまで粉砕した。可溶性の白金塩を、続いて硝酸マンガンを加えた。混合物を撹拌して均質にした。
第3のスラリーを調製し、実施例3と同じ方法を用いて、一平方当たり400個のセルを有するコーディエライトフロースルーモノリスに塗布した。この部分へのPtローディングは15g ft−3であった。この部分へのマンガンのローディングは50g ft−3であった。
酸化活性の測定
実施例3及び4の触媒の各々からコアの試料を採取した。コアは、750℃のオーブンで15時間にわたり、10%の水を用いて熱水的に「老化」させた。触媒活性を、合成ガス台上試験を用いて決定した。表1の入口ガス混合物を使用して、模擬的な触媒活性試験(SCAT)ガス装置内で、コアを試験した。いずれの場合も、残部は窒素である。CO及びHCの酸化活性は、50%の変換が達成される着火温度(T50)により決定される。NOの酸化活性は、300℃における変換率として決定される。
SCATの結果を以下の表4に示す。

酸化活性の測定
実施例5、6、7及び8の触媒の各々からコアの試料を採取した。コアは、800℃のオーブンで16時間にわたり、10%の水を用いて熱水的に「老化」させた。触媒活性を、合成ガス台上試験を用いて決定した。表1の入口ガス混合物を使用して、模擬的な触媒活性試験(SCAT)ガス装置内で、コアを試験した。いずれの場合も、残部は窒素である。CO及びHCの酸化活性は、50%の変換が達成される着火温度(T50)により決定される。
SCATの結果を以下の表5に示す。
Claims (34)
- ディーゼルエンジンの排気ガスを処理するための酸化触媒であって:
第1の白金族金属(PGM)、第1の支持材及びNOx貯蔵成分を含む第1のウオッシュコート領域;
白金(Pt)、マンガン(Mn)及び第2の支持材を含む第2のウオッシュコート領域;並びに
入口端及び出口端を有する基材
を含み、第2のウオッシュコート領域が、5:1〜0.2:1のマンガン(Mn)対白金(Pt)の総重量比を有する、酸化触媒。 - ディーゼルエンジンの排気ガスを処理するための酸化触媒であって:
第1の白金族金属(PGM)、第1の支持材及びNO x 貯蔵成分を含む第1のウオッシュコート領域;
白金(Pt)、マンガン(Mn)及び第2の支持材を含む第2のウオッシュコート領域;並びに
入口端及び出口端を有する基材
を含み、第1のPGMが、白金とパラジウムの組み合わせ、パラジウムとロジウムの組み合わせ、又は白金とパラジウムとロジウムの組み合わせであり、第1のウオッシュコート領域がパラジウム支持材を更に含む、酸化触媒。 - 第1のPGMが、白金とパラジウムの組み合わせ、パラジウムとロジウムの組み合わせ、又は白金とパラジウムとロジウムの組み合わせであり、第1のウオッシュコート領域がパラジウム支持材を更に含む、請求項1に記載の酸化触媒。
- 白金及び/又はロジウムが第1の支持材の上に配置又は支持されており、パラジウムがパラジウム支持材の上に配置又は支持されている、請求項2又は3に記載の酸化触媒。
- NO x 貯蔵成分がパラジウム支持材の上に配置又は支持されている、請求項2から4のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- パラジウム支持材がセリア又はセリアの混合若しくは複合酸化物を含む耐火性金属酸化物を含む、請求項2から5のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第2のウオッシュコート領域が、5:1〜0.2:1のマンガン(Mn)対白金(Pt)の総重量比を有する、請求項2から6のいずか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- マンガン(Mn)が、第2の支持材の上に配置又は支持されている、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第2のウオッシュコート領域がパラジウムを含む、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第2のウオッシュコート領域が、1:0〜2:1の白金対パラジウムの総重量比を有する、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第2の支持材が、アルミナ、シリカ、チタニア、ジルコニア、セリア及びこれらの混合若しくは複合酸化物からなる群より選択される耐火性金属酸化物を含む、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性金属酸化物がドーパントでドープされる、請求項11に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性金属酸化物が、アルミナ、シリカ、チタニア、ジルコニア、セリア、シリカーアルミナ、チタニア−アルミナ、ジルコニア−アルミナ、セリア−アルミナ、チタニア−シリカ、ジルコニア−シリカ、ジルコニア−チタニア、セリア−ジルコニア及びアルミナ−マグネシウム酸化物からなる群より選択される、請求項11又は12に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性金属酸化物が、シリカでドープされたアルミナである、請求項12に記載の酸化触媒。
- NOx貯蔵成分が、アルカリ金属、アルカリ土類金属及び/又は希土類金属を含み、ここで希土類金属は、ランタン、イットリウム及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される、請求項1から14のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- NOx貯蔵成分が、マグネシウム(Mg)、カルシウム(Ca)、ストロンチウム(Sr)、バリウム(Ba)及びこれらのうちの二つ以上の組み合わせからなる群より選択されるアルカリ土類金属を含む、請求項15に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1のPGMが第1の支持材の上に配置又は支持されている、請求項1から16のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1のPGMが、白金、パラジウム、白金とパラジウムの組み合わせ、白金とロジウムの組み合わせ、パラジウムとロジウムの組み合わせ、及び白金とパラジウムとロジウムの組み合わせから選択される、請求項1から17のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1の支持材が、アルカリ土類金属アルミネートを含む耐火性金属酸化物を含む、請求項1から18のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1の支持材が、アルミナ、シリカ、チタニア、ジルコニア、セリア及びこれらの混合若しくは複合酸化物からなる群より選択される耐火性金属酸化物を含む、請求項1から18のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- ドーパントでドープされる耐火性金属酸化物を含む、請求項20に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性金属酸化物が、アルミナ、シリカ、チタニア、ジルコニア、セリア、シリカーアルミナ、チタニア−アルミナ、ジルコニア−アルミナ、セリア−アルミナ、チタニア−シリカ、ジルコニア−シリカ、ジルコニア−チタニア、セリア−ジルコニア及びアルミナ−酸化マグネシウムからなる群より選択される、請求項20又は21に記載の酸化触媒。
- 耐火性金属酸化物が、酸化マグネシウムでドープされたアルミナである、請求項21に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1のPGMが白金とパラジウムの組み合わせであり、白金は第1の支持材の上に配置又は支持されている及び/又はパラジウムは第1の支持材の上に配置又は支持されている、請求項1から23のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第2のウオッシュコート領域が、基材の出口端に配置された第2のウオッシュコートゾーンである、請求項1から24のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1のウオッシュコート領域が、基材の入口端に配置された第1のウオッシュコートゾーンである、請求項25に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第2のウオッシュコート領域が、基材の入口端に配置された第2のウオッシュコートゾーンである、請求項1から24のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1のウオッシュコート領域が、基材の出口端に配置された第1のウオッシュコートゾーンである、請求項27に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1のウオッシュコート領域が第1のウオッシュコート層であり、第2のウオッシュコートゾーンが第1のウオッシュコート層の上に配置されている、請求項25又は27に記載の酸化触媒。
- 第1のウオッシュコート領域が第1のウオッシュコート層であり、第2のウオッシュコート領域が第2のウオッシュコート層であり、第2のウオッシュコート層が第1のウオッシュコート層の上に配置される、請求項1から24のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 基材がスルーフロー基材である、請求項1から30のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒。
- 請求項1から31のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒と、排出制御装置とを備える排気系統。
- 排出制御装置が、ディーゼルパティキュレートフィルター(DPF)、リーンNOxトラップ(LNT)、リーンNOx触媒(LNC)、選択的触媒還元(SCR)触媒、ディーゼル酸化触媒(DOC)、触媒化スートフィルター(CSF)、選択的触媒還元フィルター(SCRFTM)触媒、アンモニアスリップ触媒(ASC)及びこれらのうちの二つ以上の組み合わせからなる群より選択される排出制御装置からなる群より選択される、請求項32に記載の排気系統。
- ディーゼルエンジンと、請求項1から31のいずれか一項に記載の酸化触媒又は請求項32若しくは33に記載の排気系統とを備える、車両又は装置。
