[0077]15個のチタン6AL−4V ELI合金ディスクを典型的な旋削技術を用いて機械加工した。機械加工後、該ディスクを、超音波を使用して水性洗浄剤で洗浄し、残留する機械加工液を除去した。次に、該ディスクを脱イオン水で徹底的に濯ぎ、オーブン乾燥させた。オーブン乾燥後、参照として本明細書中に含ませる米国特許出願公開第2004/0265780号に記載の二重の酸エッチングプロセスを用いてディスクを粗面化した。次に別個のヒドロキシアパタイトの結晶を、参照として本明細書中に含ませる米国特許出願公開第2007/0110890号及び2007/0112353号に記載のプロセスを用いてディスクの粗面上に付着させ、Biomet 3i NanoTite(登録商標)表面を製造した。次に該ディスクをオーブン乾燥させた。
[0085]上記実施例1〜3で示されたように、乳酸加リンゲル液の塩残留物が試験ディスク表面の初期親水性に対してより確実な効果を示したので、乳酸加リンゲル液のすべての成分が親水性に対して確実な効果をもたらしたかどうかを判定する実験を実施した。
[0092]上記プロセスによって塩残留物をディスク表面に付着させた。これらの塩残留物は非毒性であり水性媒体に容易に吸収されることを意図している。以下の実験で該塩残留物の水溶性の性質を示す。
[0099]上記プロセスによって非毒性で可溶性の塩残留物を表面に付着させる。塩残留物は表面の親水性(濡れ性)を増大することが示されている。以下のラットを使ったインビボ実験で、この表面増強の効果を示し、オッセオインテグレーション化された骨と塩残留物を含むインプラントとの間の界面の強度を定量する。

Claims (11)
- 生骨に埋め込まれるインプラントの形成法であって、前記方法は、
インプラント表面の少なくとも一部を粗面化して粗面を形成し;そして
前記粗面を、非毒性の乳酸ナトリウム塩を含む溶液に暴露することによって粗面上に非毒性の乳酸ナトリウム塩残留物を付着させることにより、粗面の親水性を向上させる
ことを含む、前記インプラントの形成法。 - インプラントがチタン又はチタン合金で製造され、インプラント表面を粗面化することが、
インプラント表面から天然酸化物層を除去し;そして
得られた表面を酸エッチングする
ことを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 非毒性の乳酸ナトリウム塩残留物を付着させる前に、粗面を、ナノ粒子を含む溶液に暴露することによって粗面上に別個のナノ粒子を付着させることをさらに含み、前記ナノ粒子はオッセオインテグレーションを促進する性質を有する材料を含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- インプラントの表面上に脱イオン水滴によって形成される接触角が約5°〜約65°の範囲である、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 歯科用インプラントであって、
非回転特徴を有するヘッド部分;
前記ヘッド部分に対向する最下端;及び
前記ヘッド部分と前記最下端との間に骨とかみ合うためのネジ付きボトム部分
を含み、前記ネジ付きボトム部分は、山から谷までの高さが約20ミクロン以下の一連の微小スケールの不規則性を有する粗面を持ち、前記ネジ付きボトム部分はさらに、前記粗面上に配置される別個のナノ粒子を含み、前記ナノ粒子はヒドロキシアパタイトナノ結晶を含み、前記ネジ付きボトム部分はさらに、その上に付着された乳酸ナトリウム塩残留物を含む歯科用インプラント。 - インプラントの表面上に脱イオン水滴によって形成される接触角が約5°〜約65°の範囲である、請求項5に記載のインプラント。
- 生骨に埋め込まれるインプラントの親水性を向上させる方法であって、前記方法は、
前記インプラントの少なくとも一部を、乳酸ナトリウムを含む溶液に浸漬することによって前記インプラントの表面に非毒性の乳酸ナトリウム塩残留物を付着させ;そして
前記インプラントを乾燥させる
ことを含み、
前記インプラントの表面上に脱イオン水滴によって形成される接触角が約5°〜約65°の範囲である、前記インプラントの親水性を向上させる方法。 - 生骨に埋め込まれるインプラントの形成法であって、前記方法は、
インプラント表面の少なくとも一部をグリットブラスト媒体でグリットブラストし;
残留グリットブラスト媒体を除去し;
前記インプラント表面の前記グリットブラスト部分を粗面化して粗面を形成し;
前記粗面上に別個のヒドロキシアパタイトナノ結晶を付着させ;そして
乳酸ナトリウム塩を含む溶液に前記粗面を暴露することによって粗面上に非毒性の乳酸ナトリウム塩残留物を付着させることにより、粗面の親水性を向上させる
ことを含む、前記インプラントの形成法。 - インプラント表面の少なくとも一部をグリットブラストするのに使用される前記グリットブラスト媒体が骨吸収性のグリットブラスト媒体である、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 生骨に埋め込まれるインプラントの形成法であって、前記方法は、
インプラント表面の少なくとも一部を処理して骨とのオッセオインテグレーションを増大させ;
処理表面を、乳酸ナトリウム塩を含む溶液に暴露することによって処理表面上に乳酸ナトリウム塩を付着させることにより処理表面上の親水性を向上させる
ことを含む、前記インプラントの形成法。 - インプラントがチタン又はチタン合金で製造され、インプラント表面を処理することが、
インプラント表面から天然酸化物層を除去し;そして
得られた表面を酸エッチングして粗面化表面を形成する
ことを含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
