Description
本発明は一般に、乾性ペイント転写ラミネートに関し、そしてより具体的には、感圧接着剤層を有する自己巻取り型装飾ラミネートのための示差剥離システムに関する。
従来の塗装に代わるものを提供する表面被覆体として、乾性ペイント転写ラミネートが従来から使用されている。水性ペイント及び油性ペイントは、良く知られた欠点を有しており、これらの欠点は、ペイント代替物として装飾乾性ペイント転写フィルムを使用することによって克服することができる。スプレー塗装によって被着されたペイント・システムから溶剤が蒸発するといった環境上の問題も、装飾乾性ペイント転写フィルムを使用することにより回避される。
図1を参照すると、多層乾性ペイント転写ラミネート20が、表面形成フィルムとして使用されるように適合されている。多層ラミネートは、分散型顔料を含有する合成樹脂バインダーを含む顔料含有乾性ペイント層22を含む。本明細書中で色層とも呼ばれる乾性顔料含有ペイント層22は一般に、図1に示されるモノコート顔料含有層であってよく、或いは、乾性顔料ペイント層22は、下記の付加的な顔料含有ペイント層、コーティング又はプリントコートと組み合わせることができる。それぞれの事例において、多層乾性ペイント転写フィルムのこれらの装飾要素を、全体的に装飾乾性ペイント層を呼ぶ。図1に示された実施態様の場合、乾性ペイント層22は、上面24と下面26とを有している。多層ラミネートはさらに、乾性ペイント層の上面24に被さってこれに付着させられた乾性接着剤層28と、乾性ペイント層の下面に被さってこれに剥離可能に付着させられたフレキシブルで折り畳み可能な剥離ライナー30とを含む。剥離ライナーは、乾性ペイント層の光沢度を制御するための乾性ペイント剥離コートを有する。一実施態様において、剥離ライナーは、乾性ペイント層22の下面26に剥離ライナー30を剥離可能に付着させるために、その内面に艶消し剥離コート32を有している。剥離ライナー30は、キャリヤ剥離機能とも呼ばれる剥離力が加えられた状態で、乾性ペイント層から剥ぎ取られるように適合されている。剥離ライナーが乾性ペイント層から剥ぎ取られると、艶消し剥離コート32は乾性ペイント層22から分離するが、しかし、剥離ライナー30には付着させられたままである。剥離ライナー30はまた、乾性ペイント層とは反対側の表面に、接着剤剥離コート層34を有している。接着剤剥離コート層34の露出した外面38は、ラミネートが図2に示されたロール形態で巻取られたときに、接着剤層28の露出外面40と剥離可能に接触するように適合されている。
乾性ペイント層は独立して、1種又は2種以上の高分子バインダー又は樹脂、及び1種又は2種以上の顔料を含むことができる。補強層及びバリア層は、1種又は2種以上の高分子バインダー又は樹脂、及び任意には1種又は2種以上の顔料を含むことができる。透明な外側クリアコート層は、1種又は2種以上の高分子又は樹脂を含むことができる。これらの層は、1種又は2種以上のバインダー又は樹脂、及び(もし使用するならば)1種又は2種以上の顔料を含む溶剤キャスト液体コーティング又はペイント組成物から形成することができる。これらの組成物は、水又は1種又は2種以上の有機溶剤中に分散することができ、そして任意には、特性、例えばレオロジー特性又はバリア特性を制御するための1種又は2種以上の付加的な添加剤を含有することができる。乾性ペイント層、又は透明な外側クリアコート層、又は補強層又はバリア層はそれぞれ、独立して1種又は2種以上の押出し層を含むことができる。
透明な外側クリアコート層は、単一のコーティング層又は多重コートを含んでよく、また、上記樹脂材料のいずれかを含んでよい。多重コートを使用する場合、それぞれのコートは同じ又は異なる配合を有していてよい。前述のように、外側クリアコート層は溶剤キャスト(水性又は有機溶剤に基づく)することができ、或いは、外側クリアコート層は押出されることができる。1実施態様の場合、外側クリアコート層は、擦り傷抵抗、耐汚染性、及び/又は乾性ペイント・フィルム層又はその下地となる層に対する再コーティング性を高める。再コーティング性を高めることにより、別の乾性ペイントフィルム層又はプリント装飾層をその上に続いて被着すること、又は従来のペイント又は装飾乾性ペイント・フィルムを被着することが容易になる。
補強又は支持層は、上記バインダー又は樹脂材料のいずれかから形成することができる。この層は、溶液又はエマルジョンから形成し、下記コーティング技術のいずれかを用いて被着することができる。この層は、押出されることもできる。補強層は、上記顔料のうちの1種又は2種以上を含有することにより、仕上げラミネートの不透明性を高めることができる。補強層が使用される場合、補強層中の顔料の濃度は最大10重量%であり、1実施態様の場合、約6〜約10重量%であってよい。
乾性接着剤層は、加圧下で、室温において、装飾ラミネートを基材表面に結合する感圧接着剤(PSA)を含むことができる。接着剤層は連続的又は不連続的な層であってよく、また、1種の接着剤、或いは2種又は3種以上の接着剤の混合物を含むこともできる。接着剤層は、或る幾つかの領域に比較的強い接着剤粘着レベルを有し、また別の領域には比較的弱い接着剤を有する、パターン化された接着剤層であってよい。
バリア層は、上記アクリレート・ポリマー又はコポリマー、ポリビニルアルコール、エチレン及びビニルアセテートから誘導されたコポリマー、及びエチレン、ビニルアセテート及びポリビニルアルコールから誘導されたコポリマーのうちのいずれかを含むことができる。1実施態様では、バリア層はポリビニルアルコールのウレタンに対するポリマーブレンドを含むことができ、Avecia Resinsから入手可能である。バリア層はラミネートが被着される基材から乾性ペイント層の中に、染料もしくは顔料及び他の材料が移行することを防止し又は抑制することができる。
剥離ライナーは乾性ペイント層に制御された光沢度の表面仕上げを転写するようにライナーに結合した乾性ペイント剥離コートを有する。剥離ライナーの表面又は剥離ライナー上のコーティングの表面は乾性ペイント層に、高光沢、半光沢又は艶消し(低光沢)表面仕上げを提供することができる。1実施態様において、乾性ペイント層の透明層又は色層もしくはプリント層のいずれかである乾性ペイント層に艶消し表面仕上げを転写するように、剥離ライナーはミクロ粗面(micro−roughened surface)を有する艶消し剥離コートを有する。
本発明の1実施態様の場合、ラミネートの剥離特性は、図1〜7及び図10に示された実施態様の場合、乾性ペイント層(透明層、色層又はプリント装飾層を含むことができる)から艶消し剥離コート層を分離するのに必要な剥離力は、感圧接着剤層から接着剤剥離コート層を分離するのに必要な剥離力よりも大きいように制御される。
ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)剥離ライナーの一方の側に、接着剤剥離コーティング層に相当するシリコーン剥離コーティングをコーティングする。剥離コーテッド・ライナーの厚さは0.92ミルであり、Mitsubishi 92ゲージSLKとしても知られている。
下記ペイント組成物を使用して、一方は実施例1、そして他方は実施例2のために、クリア・コート層上に乾性ペイント層を形成する。実施例1の乾性ペイント層は濃褐色トーンであり、実施例2の乾性ペイント層はオレンジ・パステル・トーンを有する。下記表において、全ての数値は重量部である。
実施例1及び2のために用いられる手順を繰り返す。但しこの場合、下記液状ペイント組成物を使用することにより、乾性ペイント層を形成する。下記表において、全ての数値は重量部である。
PET剥離ライナーの一方の側に、接着剤剥離コート層に相当するシリコーン剥離コーティングをコーティングする。剥離コート・ライナーの厚さは0.92ミルである。
PET剥離ライナーの一方の側に、シリコーン剥離コーティングをコーティングする。剥離コーテッド・ライナーの厚さは0.92ミルである。
PET剥離ライナーの一方の側に、シリコーン剥離コーティングをコーティングする。剥離コーテッド・ライナーの厚さは0.92ミルである。

PET剥離ライナーの一方の側に、接着剤剥離コート層に相当するシリコーン剥離コーティングをコーティングする。剥離コーテッド・ライナーの厚さは0.92ミルである。
図10に示す本発明の1実施例の場合、装飾ラミネート89は、剥離ライナー30上に続いてコーティングされた乾性ペイント層を含む。剥離ライナー30は一方の側に艶消し剥離コート32と、乾性ペイント層とは反対側に接着剤剥離層34とを含む。乾性ペイント層は外側クリア・コート層44と、1つ又は2つ以上の装飾プリント・コート48と、色層22とを含む。色層にはバリア層60が結合されており、バリアコート及びPSA層28には、タイコート90が結合されている。
乾燥済バリア層に、下記タイコートをコーティングする。全ての数値は重量部である:
本明細書中に記載された種々のペイント・フィルムのByk-Mallinckrodt光沢計で求められた光沢測定値は、下記光沢示度をもたらした:
(1) 剥離コート---タルクとCymel 303を有するポリマーとの比が1.0〜1.1:1の標準範囲のミクロタルクを有する、比14.5:1のElvacite 2899/VYNS

巻出し剥離力に対するキャリア剥離力に関して、「力差」を測定するために、2インチ幅 x 12インチ長のストリップで試料を形成することにより、装飾フィルム・ロールの巻出しをシミュレートした。被験構造は、透明トップコート、顔料含有色層、露出したフィルムのPSA側を有するPSA層、及びPETフィルムを含む剥離ライナーを有する図3の実施態様から形成された。PETフィルムは、トップコートと接触した艶消し剥離コートと、剥離ライナーの反対側に形成された露出シリコーン剥離コートとを有する。他の試験では、構造は図10に示されたものと同様であり、同じ構造がバリア層とタイコート層とを含んだ。
Claims (7)
- 基材表面に着色層を被着するための自己巻取り型多層ラミネートであって、該ラミネートは、乾性ペイント層と、感圧接着剤層と、剥離ライナーとを含み:
該乾性ペイント層はバインダーと顔料とを含む不透明色層を含み、壁ペイントの外観を有しそして上面と下面とを有しており;
該感圧接着剤層は該乾性ペイント層の上面に被さっており、そして室温で基材表面に該ラミネートを付着させるように適合されており;
該剥離ライナーは該乾性ペイント層の下面に被さっており、該剥離ライナーは、0.013mm〜0.05mm(0.5ミル〜2ミル)の厚さと、該乾性ペイント層の下面に剥離可能に付着させられた艶消し剥離コートと、該剥離ライナーの、該乾性ペイント層とは反対側に設けられた接着剤剥離コート層とを有しており、該剥離ライナー及び該艶消し剥離コートは、室温で乾性ペイント層から取り外し可能であり、
該艶消し剥離コートは、該感圧接着剤層が加圧下で該基材表面に該ラミネートを付着させ、そして該剥離ライナーが該乾性ペイント層から剥ぎ取られると、該乾性ペイント層の露出面に艶消し仕上げを転写し、
該ラミネートは自己巻取りされて、該感圧接着剤層が該接着剤剥離コート層と接触した状態でロールを形成するように適合されており、
該接着剤剥離コート層と該感圧接着剤層との間に巻出し剥離力が形成されており、該巻出し剥離力は、該艶消し剥離コートと該乾性ペイント層との間のキャリヤ剥離力よりも低いことにより、該ラミネートをそのロール形態から巻出すと、該接着剤剥離コートは、該感圧接着剤層との接触状態から該ライナーを優先して剥離し、これに対して、該ラミネートがそのロール形態から巻出されているときに、該艶消し剥離コートは該乾性ペイント層との接触状態を維持する、自己巻取り型多層ラミネート。 - 該乾性ペイント層は、顔料含有カラーコート層と、該カラーコートに結合しておりそして該剥離ライナー上の該艶消し剥離コート層と接触状態の透明外側クリアコート層とを含み、該艶消し表面が該透明外側クリアコート層に転写される、請求項1に記載の自己巻取り型多層ラミネート。
- 基材表面に着色層を被着するための自己巻取り型多層ラミネートであって、該ラミネートは、乾性ペイント層と、感圧接着剤層と、剥離ライナーとを含み:
該乾性ペイント層はバインダーと顔料とを含む不透明色層を含み、壁ペイントの外観を有しそして上面と下面とを有しており;
該感圧接着剤層は該乾性ペイント層の上面に被さっており、そして室温で基材表面に該ラミネートを付着させるように適合されており、該感圧接着剤はアクリル樹脂材料を含み;
該剥離ライナーは該乾性ペイント層の下面に被さっており、該剥離ライナーは、0.013mm〜0.05mm(0.5ミル〜2ミル)の厚さと、該乾性ペイント層の下面に剥離可能に付着させられた艶消し剥離コートと、該剥離ライナーの、該乾性ペイント層とは反対側に設けられた接着剤剥離コート層とを有しており、該剥離ライナー及び該剥離コートは、室温で乾性ペイント層から取り外し可能であり、
該感圧接着剤層は再配置可能であり、次いで、該乾性ペイント層から該艶消し剥離ライナーが取り外され、
該艶消し剥離コートは、該感圧接着剤層が加圧下で該基材表面に該ラミネートを付着させ、そして該剥離ライナーが該乾性ペイント層から剥ぎ取られると、該乾性ペイント層の露出面に艶消し仕上げを転写し、
該ラミネートは自己巻取りされて、該感圧接着剤層が該接着剤剥離コート層と接触した状態でロールを形成するように適合されており、
該接着剤剥離コート層と該感圧接着剤層との間に巻出し剥離力が形成されており、該巻出し剥離力は、該艶消し剥離コートと該乾性ペイント層との間のキャリヤ剥離力よりも低いことにより、該ラミネートをそのロール形態から巻出すと、該接着剤剥離コート層は、該感圧接着剤層との接触状態から該ライナーを優先して剥離し、これに対して、該ラミネートがそのロール形態から巻出されているときに、該艶消し剥離コートは該乾性ペイント層との接触状態を維持する、自己巻取り型多層ラミネート。 - 基材表面に着色層を被着するための自己巻取り型多層ラミネートであって、該ラミネートは、乾性ペイント層と、感圧接着剤層と、剥離ライナーとを含み:

該乾性ペイント剥離コートは、該感圧接着剤層が加圧下で該基材表面に該ラミネートを付着させ、そして該剥離ライナーが該乾性ペイント層から剥ぎ取られると、該乾性ペイント層の露出面に制御された表面仕上げを転写し、
該ラミネートは自己巻取りされて、該感圧接着剤層が該接着剤剥離コート層と接触した状態でロールを形成するように適合されており、
該接着剤剥離コート層と該感圧接着剤層との間に巻出し剥離力が形成されており、該巻出し剥離力は、該乾性ペイント剥離コートと該乾性ペイント層との間のキャリヤ剥離力よりも低いことにより、該ラミネートをそのロール形態から巻出すと、該接着剤剥離コートは、該感圧接着剤層との接触状態から該ライナーを優先して剥離し、これに対して、該ラミネートがそのロール形態から巻出されているときに、該乾性ペイント剥離コートは該乾性ペイント層との接触状態を維持する、自己巻取り型多層ラミネート。 - 該接着剤は抑制された初期粘着レベルを有して再配置可能であり、次いで、該基材に対して該乾性ペイント層を永久結合させるに十分な時間の経過によって付着力が上昇する、請求項4に記載の自己巻取り型多層ラミネート。
- 該乾性ペイント層は、顔料含有カラーコート層と、該カラーコートに結合しておりそして該剥離ライナー上の該乾性ペイント剥離コート層と接触状態の透明外側クリアコート層とを含み、制御された表面光沢が該透明外側クリアコート層に転写される、請求項4に記載の自己巻取り型多層ラミネート。
- 基材表面に着色層を被着するための自己巻取り型多層ラミネートであって、該ラミネートは、乾性ペイント層と、感圧接着剤層と、剥離ライナーとを含み:

該ラミネートは自己巻取りされて、該感圧接着剤層が該接着剤剥離コート層と接触した状態でロールを形成するように適合されており、
該接着剤剥離コート層と該感圧接着剤層との間に巻出し剥離力が形成されており、該巻出し剥離力は、該乾性ペイント剥離コートと該乾性ペイント層との間のキャリヤ剥離力よりも低いことにより、該ラミネートをそのロール形態から巻出すと、該接着剤剥離コート層は、該感圧接着剤層との接触状態から該ライナーを優先して剥離し、これに対して、該ラミネートがそのロール形態から巻出されているときに、該乾性ペイント剥離コートは該乾性ペイント層との接触状態を維持する、自己巻取り型多層ラミネート。
