Abstract
Description
本発明は、電池等の蓄電デバイスにおける使用のための電極を製造するためのフルオロポリマー組成物、好ましくはポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)組成物に関する。本組成物は、PVDF、バインダー、有機溶媒および1種または複数種の電極形成材料を含有する。
エレクトロニクス産業においては、より小型でより軽量の電池によって電力供給される、より小型のデバイスを製造する傾向にある。炭素質材料等の負極およびリチウム金属酸化物等の正極を有する電池は、比較的大きな電力および軽い重量をもたらすことができる。
本発明は、
(a)有機希釈剤中に分散したポリフッ化ビニリデンポリマーと、
(b)(メタ)アクリルポリマー分散剤と
を含む、リチウムイオン二次電池の電極バインダーを提供する。
(a)リチウムの吸蔵/放出が可能である電気活性な物質、
(b)上記バインダー、および
(c)導電剤
を含む、リチウムイオン二次電池のための電極スラリーをさらに提供する。
(a)電流コレクタ、
(b)(i)ポリフッ化ビニリデンポリマー、
(ii)架橋(メタ)アクリルポリマー、
(iii)導電性材料および
(iv)リチウムの吸蔵/放出が可能な電極活物質
を含む、コレクタ(a)上に形成された硬化フィルム
を含む、電極をさらに提供する。
(a)上記電極、
(b)対電極、および
(c)電解質
を含む、蓄電デバイスをさらに提供する。
本明細書で使用されるとき、明示的な他の記載がない限り、値、範囲、量または百分率を表している数等、すべての数は、「約」という用語が明示的に出現していない場合であっても、「約」という単語によって前置きされている場合と同じように解釈され得る。さらに、複数形の用語および/または語句は、単数形の均等物を包摂しており、逆もまた真であることに留意すべきである。例えば、「1種」のポリマー、「1種」の架橋剤および任意の他の構成要素は、これらの構成要素の1種または複数種にも言及している。

実施例30は、NMP中に溶解させたPVDFを用いて作製された対照である(6.4C放電において容量69.9mAh/g)。
実施例24は、70:30のPVDF:(メタ)アクリル Tg=−12℃である(6.4C放電において容量58.3mAh/g)。
Claims (44)
- (a)有機希釈剤中に分散したポリフッ化ビニリデンポリマーと、
(b)(メタ)アクリルポリマー分散剤と
を別個の構成要素として含む、リチウムイオン二次電池の電極バインダー。 - 前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、100℃より低いガラス転移温度を有する、請求項1に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、−50℃から+70℃までのガラス転移温度を有する、請求項1に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、1種または複数種の活性水素基含有(メタ)アクリルモノマーを含むモノマーの混合物から調製される、請求項1に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記活性水素基が、カルボン酸基を含む、請求項4に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記活性水素基が、ヒドロキシル基をさらに含む、請求項5に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記モノマーの混合物が、反応性基であって、前記活性水素基と反応性またはそれら自体と反応性である反応性基を含有するモノマーを含有するという点で、自己架橋性である、請求項4に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記反応性基が、N−アルコキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド基および/またはブロック化イソシアネート基を含む、請求項7に記載の電極バインダー。
- (c)前記活性水素基と反応性である別途添加された架橋剤をさらに含有する、請求項4に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記架橋剤が、アミノプラスト、ブロック化ポリイソシアネートおよび/またはポリエポキシドを含む、請求項9に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記ポリフッ化ビニリデンポリマーが、50重量パーセントから98重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、2重量パーセントから50重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、前記架橋剤が、1重量パーセントから15重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、重量による百分率は樹脂固形分を基準にしている、請求項9に記載の電極バインダー。
- 前記有機希釈剤が、ケトン、エステルおよびエーテルの混合物を含めて、ケトン、エステルおよびエーテルを含む、請求項1に記載の電極バインダー。
- 30重量パーセントから80重量パーセントまでの樹脂固形分含量を有する、請求項12に記載の電極バインダー。
- (a)リチウムの吸蔵/放出が可能である電気活性な物質、
(b)(i)有機希釈剤中に分散したポリフッ化ビニリデンポリマーと
(ii)(メタ)アクリルポリマー分散剤と
を別個の構成要素として含む、バインダー、および
(c)導電剤
を含む、リチウムイオン二次電池のための電極スラリー。 - (a)が、LiCoO2、LiNiO2、LiFePO4、LiCoPO4、LiMnO2、LiMn2O4、Li(NiMnCo)O2、Li(NiCoAl)O2、炭素被覆されたLiFePO4およびこれらの混合物を含む、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。
- (a)が、LiFePO4である、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。
- (c)が、黒鉛、活性炭、アセチレンブラック、ファーネスブラックおよびグラフェンを含む、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。
- (a)が、45重量パーセントから96重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、
(b)が、2重量パーセントから20重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、
(c)が、2重量パーセントから20重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、
重量による百分率は合計固形分重量を基準にしている、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。 - 前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、100℃より低いガラス転移温度を有する、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、−50℃から+70℃までのガラス転移温度を有する、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、1種または複数種の活性水素基含有(メタ)アクリルモノマーを含むモノマーの混合物から調製される、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記活性水素基が、カルボン酸基を含む、請求項21に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記活性水素基が、ヒドロキシル基をさらに含む、請求項22に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記モノマーの混合物が、反応性基であって、前記活性水素基またはそれら自体と反応性である反応性基を含有するモノマーを含有するという点で、前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが自己架橋性である、請求項21に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記反応性基が、N−アルコキシメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド基および/またはブロック化イソシアネート基を含む、請求項24に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記活性水素基と反応性である別途添加された架橋剤をさらに含有する、請求項21に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記架橋剤が、アミノプラスト、ブロック化ポリイソシアネートおよび/またはポリエポキシドを含む、請求項26に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記ポリフッ化ビニリデンポリマーが、50重量パーセントから98重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、2重量パーセントから50重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、前記架橋剤が、1重量パーセントから15重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、重量による百分率は樹脂固形分を基準にしている、請求項26に記載の電極スラリー。
- 前記有機希釈剤が、ケトン、エステルおよびエーテルの混合物を含めて、ケトン、エステルおよびエーテル、請求項14に記載の電極スラリー。
- 30重量パーセントから80重量パーセントまでの樹脂固形分含量を有する、請求項29に記載の電極スラリー。
- (a)電流コレクタ、
(b)(i)ポリフッ化ビニリデンポリマー、
(ii)架橋(メタ)アクリルポリマー、
(iii)導電性材料および
(iv)リチウムの吸蔵/放出が可能な電極活物質
を含む、前記コレクタ(a)上に形成された硬化フィルム
を含む、電極。 - (a)が、銅またはアルミニウムのシートまたは箔を含む、請求項31に記載の電極。
- 前記架橋(メタ)アクリルポリマーが、前記(メタ)アクリルポリマーと関連している活性水素基と、前記活性水素基と反応性である架橋剤との反応から形成される、請求項31に記載の電極。
- 前記活性水素基が、カルボン酸基を含む、請求項33に記載の電極。
- 前記活性水素基が、ヒドロキシル基をさらに含む、請求項34に記載の電極。
- 前記架橋剤が、前記(メタ)アクリルポリマー中または前記活性水素基と反応性である前記別途添加された架橋材料中に反応性基を含有する、請求項33に記載の電極。
- 前記反応性基が、N−アルコキシメチルアミド基および/またはブロック化イソシアネート基を含む、請求項36に記載の電極。
- 前記別途添加された材料が、アミノプラスト、ブロック化ポリイソシアネートおよび/またはポリエポキシドを含む、請求項36に記載の電極。
- (iii)が、黒鉛、活性炭、アセチレンブラック、ファーネスブラックおよびグラフェンを含む、請求項31に記載の電極。
- (iv)が、LiCoO2、LiNiO2、LiFePO4、LiCoPO4、LiMnO2、LiMn2O4、Li(NiMnCo)O2、Li(NiCoAl)O2、炭素被覆されたLiFePO4およびこれらの混合物を含む、請求項31に記載の電極。
- (i)が、1重量パーセントから20重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、
(ii)が、0.1重量パーセントから10重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、
(iii)が、2重量パーセントから20重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、
(iv)が、45重量パーセントから96重量パーセントまでの量で存在し、
重量による百分率は前記混合物の合計重量を基準にしており、(ii)に対する(i)の重量比が、1より大きいまたは1に等しい、請求項31に記載の電極。 - (a)請求項31に記載の電極、
(b)対電極、および
(c)電解質
を含む、蓄電デバイス。 - 前記電解質が、溶媒中に溶解したリチウム塩である、請求項42に記載の蓄電デバイス。
- 前記リチウム塩が、有機カーボネート中に溶解している、請求項43に記載の蓄電デバイス。
