Claims (21)
- 溶融カーボネート燃料電池を使用して、電気および水素または合成ガスを製造する方法であって、
改質可能燃料を含むアノード燃料流を、溶融カーボネート燃料電池のアノードのアノードインレットに導入することと;
CO2およびO2を含むカソードインレット流を、前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池のカソードのカソードインレットに導入することと;
約0.25〜約1.3の熱比率で電気を発生させるように前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池を作動させることと;
前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池のアノードアウトレットからアノード排出物を生成することと;
前記アノード排出物から、水素含有流、合成ガス含有流またはそれらの組み合わせを分離することと
を含む方法。 - 前記カソードのCO2利用が少なくとも約50%である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池が燃料電池積層を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池が、1つ以上の集積化された吸熱性反応段階をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記1つ以上の集積化された吸熱性反応段階の少なくとも1つの集積化された吸熱性反応段階が、集積化された改質段階を含み、前記アノードインレットに導入される前記アノード燃料流が、前記アノードインレットに入る前に、前記集積化された改質段階を通過する、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池を、約0.67ボルト以下の電圧VAで作動させる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- i)前記アノード排出物、ii)前記水素含有流、およびiii)前記合成ガス含有流の1つまたは組み合わせから、CO2およびH2Oの少なくとも1つを分離することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱比率が約1.15以下である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱比率が約1.0以下である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱比率が少なくとも約0.25である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アノードアウトレットの温度が、前記アノードインレットの温度よりも約40℃高いか、またはそれよりも低い温度だけ高い、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アノードインレットの温度が、前記アノードアウトレットの温度とは約20℃異なるか、またはそれよりも低い温度だけ異なる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アノードアウトレットの温度が、前記アノードインレットの温度よりも約10℃〜約80℃低い、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱比率が約0.85以下であり、前記方法が、前記アノードインレットの温度よりも約5℃〜約50℃低い前記アノードアウトレットの温度を維持するために前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池に熱を供給することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 単回通過において前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記アノードにおいて生成されるH2の10体積%未満が、前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記アノード、または前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記カソードに直接的または間接的にリサイクルされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記合成ガス含有流の10体積%未満が、前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記アノード、または前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記カソードに直接的または間接的にリサイクルされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アノード排出物の10体積%未満が、前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記アノード、または前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記カソードに直接的または間接的にリサイクルされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アノード排出物のいずれの部分も前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記アノードに直接的または間接的にリサイクルされないか、前記溶融カーボネート燃料電池の前記カソードに直接的または間接的にリサイクルされないか、あるいはそれらの組み合わせである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記合成ガス含有流が、約3.0:1〜約1.0:1のH2:COのモル比を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アノード排出物が、約1.5:1〜約10:1のH2:COのモル比を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アノード排出物が、少なくとも約3.0:1のH 2 :COのモル比を有する、請求項20に記載の方法。
