過剰なアンモニア(≧4:1比)は、合成の際に供給される。生成する初期の半透明の赤色は、ジアミン銀錯体に完全に変換されない酸化銀に相当する。ギ酸の添加によって、保護されていない銀が還元されて、粒子(約31重量%)が生成するが、これらは(例えば、沈殿によって)除去される。添加されたギ酸の約40重量%がこの工程で使用される。残りのギ酸は、水酸化物に水素イオンを付加して水とするとともに、ギ酸アンモニウムを生成することによって、水酸化アンモニウムを中和する。随伴するpHの低下〈例えば、約14から約10.6〉は、多くの遊離アンモニアが溶液中に存在するのを可能とし、目的とするジアミン銀錯体を生成する。特に、ジアミン銀錯体は、以前に報告されたトレンス試薬の化学的性質に比較して、溶液中において高比率の銀を含有する。水中で過剰なアンモニアを使用することにより、ジアミン銀(I)錯体は、酸化銀中間体を必要とせず直接形成される。
Claims (23)
- 導電性銀構造を形成するためのインク組成物であって、
銀塩と、
(a)錯化剤と短鎖カルボン酸との錯体、または(b)錯化剤と短鎖カルボン酸の塩との錯体とを含有することを特徴とするインク組成物。 - 前記短鎖カルボン酸は、ギ酸、酢酸、プロピオン酸、ペンタン酸および酪酸からなる群より選択される請求項1に記載のインク組成物。
- 前記短鎖カルボン酸は、ギ酸である請求項2に記載のインク組成物。
- 前記錯化剤は、アルキルアミンおよびアンモニアからなる群より選択される請求項1に記載のインク組成物。
- 前記アルキルアミンは、メチルアミン、エチルアミン、プロピルアミン、ブチルアミンおよびアミルアミンからなる群より選択される請求項4に記載のインク組成物。
- 前記銀塩は、酢酸銀、ギ酸銀、炭酸銀、フッ化銀、硝酸銀、亜硝酸銀、塩化銀、臭化銀、ヨウ化銀、リン酸銀および酸化銀からなる群より選択される請求項1に記載のインク組成物。
- さらに、メチレンジアミンまたはエチレンジアミンを含有する請求項1に記載のインク組成物。
- さらに、エタノール、ブタノール、プロピレングリコール、水およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される溶媒を含有する請求項1に記載のインク組成物。
- さらに、前記銀塩の一部の還元によって生成された元素状銀を含有する請求項1に記載のインク組成物。
- 当該インク組成物は、低剪断条件下で、約1〜約106mPa・sの粘度を有する請求項9に記載のインク組成物。
- 前記銀塩は、酢酸銀であり、前記錯化剤は、メチルアミン、エチルアミン、プロピルアミン、ブチルアミン、アミルアミンおよびアンモニアからなる群より選択され、前記短鎖カルボン酸は、ギ酸である請求項1に記載のインク組成物。
- さらに、エチレンジアミンを含有する請求項11に記載のインク組成物。
- さらに、エタノール、ブタノール、プロピレングリコール、水およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される溶媒を含有する請求項11に記載のインク組成物。
- 導電性銀構造を形成するためのインク組成物であって、
銀塩と、
前記銀塩を溶解するための錯化剤であって、前記銀塩のための還元剤でない錯化剤と、
前記錯化剤と錯体を形成し、かつ前記銀塩を還元するための酸とを含有し、
前記錯化剤および前記酸のそれぞれが、約120℃以下の沸点を有することを特徴とするインク組成物。 - さらに、約120℃以下の沸点を有する溶媒を含有する請求項14に記載のインク組成物。
- 銀塩と錯化剤とを混合する工程と、
短鎖カルボン酸または該短鎖カルボン酸の塩を、前記混合した銀塩および錯化剤に添加して、インク組成物を形成する工程と、
前記インク組成物中の前記錯化剤の濃度を減少させて、濃縮物を形成する工程と、
前記金属塩を還元して、導電性銀構造を形成する工程とを有し、
前記濃縮物および前記導電性銀構造を、約120℃以下の温度で形成することを特徴とする導電性銀構造の形成方法。 - 前記温度は、約90℃以下である請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記短鎖カルボン酸または前記短鎖カルボン酸の塩は、前記銀塩が前記錯化剤に溶解するまで添加されない請求項16に記載の方法。
- さらに、前記インク組成物を基板上に付着させる工程を有する請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記インク組成物を、スプレー処理、浸漬コーティング、スピンコーティング、インクジェット印刷およびe−jet印刷からなる群より選択される方法によって、前記基板上に付着させる請求項19に記載の方法。
- さらに、前記濃縮物を基板上に付着させる工程を有する請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記濃縮物を、スクリーン印刷、ロールツーロール処理および直接インク描画からなる群より選択される方法によって、前記基板上に付着させる請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記導電性銀構造は、約2×10−5Ωcm以下の抵抗率を有する請求項16に記載の方法。
