Abstract
【解決手段】 正極1と、負極活物質に炭素材料を用いた負極2と、非水電解液とを備えた非水電解質二次電池において、上記の非水電解液中に、少なくとも飽和環状炭酸エステルと、炭素の二重結合を有する環状炭酸エステルとを含有させると共に、この炭素の二重結合を有する環状炭酸エステルを、負極容量1mAh当たり1.0×10-8〜13.0×10-5gの範囲で含有させるようにした。

Description
この実施例においては、下記のようにして作製した正極と負極と非水電解液とを用い、図1に示すような円筒型の非水電解液二次電池を作製した。
正極を作製するにあたっては、正極活物質として、スピネル構造を有する組成式Li1.125 Mn1.875 O4 で表されるリチウム・マンガン系複合酸化物粉末と、組成式LiNi0.4 Co0.3 Mn0.3 O2 で表されるリチウム・ニッケル・コバルト・マンガン複合酸化物とを4:6の重量比で混合させたものを用いた。
負極を作製するにあたっては、負極活物質として、平均粒径が20μmの天然黒鉛粉末(d002 =0.3356nm,Lc>100nm,I110 /I002 =11×10-3、R(ID /IG )=0.16)を用い、この負極活物質と、スチレン−ブタジエンゴムと、カルボキシメチルセルロースとを98:1:1の重量比で混合させた負極合剤に、水を加えてスラリーを調製し、このスラリーを銅箔からなる負極集電体の両面に塗布し、これを真空乾燥させた後、圧延させて負極を作製した。なお、この負極における負極活物質の天然黒鉛粉末の量は5mg/cm2 になっていた。
非水電解液を作製するにあたっては、飽和環状炭酸エステルのエチレンカーボネートと、鎖状炭酸エステルのジエチルカーボネートと、鎖状炭酸エステルのジメチルカーボネートとを35:50:15の体積比で混合させた混合溶媒に、電解質としてヘキサフルオロリン酸リチウムLiPF6 を1mol/lの割合で溶解させた後、これに炭素の二重結合を有する環状炭酸エステルのビニレンカーボネートを添加させるようにし、このビニレンカーボネートの量が上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり7.5×10-5gになるように添加して、非水電解液を作製した。
電池を作製するにあたっては、図2に示すように、上記のように作製した正極1と負極2とを幅方向にずらせるようにして、この正極1と負極2との間にポリプロピレン製の微多孔膜からなるセパレータ3を挟み、これらを渦巻き状に巻き取って電極体10を作製した。なお、この電極体10においては、その軸方向の一方の端部において、上記の正極1における正極集電体1aの端縁がセパレータ3の端縁よりも軸方向外側へ突出すると共に、他方の端部においては、上記の負極2における負極集電体2aの端縁がセパレータ3の端縁よりも軸方向外側へ突出するようにした。
実施例2においては、上記の実施例1における非水電解液の作製において、非水電解液に添加させるビニレンカーボネートの量を、上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり12.5×10-5gになるようにし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様にして、実施例2の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。
比較例1においては、上記の実施例1における非水電解液の作製において、非水電解液にビニレンカーボネートを添加させないようにし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様にして、比較例1の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。
比較例2においては、上記の実施例1における非水電解液の作製において、非水電解液に添加させるビニレンカーボネートの量、上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり14.9×10-5gになるようにし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様にして、比較例2の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。
比較例3においては、上記の実施例1における非水電解液の作製において、非水電解液に添加させるビニレンカーボネートの量、上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり22.4×10-5gになるようにし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様にして、比較例3の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。
V=Vo−RI
また、上記のように求めた実施例1,2及び比較例1〜3の各非水電解質二次電池におけるR及びVoの値から、各非水電解質二次電池を3Vで放電させた場合における出力電流I3vを下記の式により求め、その結果を下記の表1及び図2に示した。

実施例3においては、上記の実施例1における負極の作製において、負極における負極活物質の天然黒鉛粉末の量を10mg/cm2に、正極における正極活物質の量を24mg/cm2にし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様に、非水電解液に添加させるビニレンカーボネートの量が上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり7.5×10-5gになるようにして、実施例3の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。
実施例4においては、上記の実施例1における負極の作製において、負極における負極活物質の天然黒鉛粉末の量を15mg/cm2に、正極における正極活物質の量を36mg/cm2にし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様に、非水電解液に添加させるビニレンカーボネートの量が上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり7.5×10-5gになるようにして、実施例4の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。
比較例4においては、上記の実施例4の場合と同様に、負極における負極活物質の天然黒鉛粉末の量を15mg/cm2に、正極における正極活物質の量を36mg/cm2にすると共に、非水電解液に添加させるビニレンカーボネートの量が、前記の比較例2の場合と同様に、上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり14.9×10-5gになるようにし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様にして、比較例4の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。
比較例5においては、上記の実施例4の場合と同様に、負極における負極活物質の天然黒鉛粉末の量を15mg/cm2に、正極における正極活物質の量を36mg/cm2にすると共に、非水電解液に添加させるビニレンカーボネートの量が、前記の比較例3の場合と同様に、上記の負極の容量1mAh当たり22.4×10-5gになるようにし、それ以外は、上記の実施例1の場合と同様にして、比較例5の非水電解質二次電池を作製した。

Claims (5)
- 正極と、負極活物質に炭素材料を用いた負極と、非水電解液とを備えた非水電解質二次電池において、上記の非水電解液中に、少なくとも飽和環状炭酸エステルと、炭素の二重結合を有する環状炭酸エステルとが含有されてなり、この炭素の二重結合を有する環状炭酸エステルが、負極容量1mAh当たり1.0×10-8〜13.0×10-5gの範囲で含有されていることを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。
- 請求項1に記載した非水電解質二次電池において、負極活物質に用いる上記の炭素材料が黒鉛系炭素材料であることを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。
- 請求項1又は2に記載した非水電解質二次電池において、上記の負極における負極活物質の量が1.0〜12mg/cm2 の範囲であることを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。
- 請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載した非水電解質二次電池において、上記の炭素の二重結合を有する環状炭酸エステルがビニレンカーボネートであることを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。
- 請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載した非水電解質二次電池において、上記の正極における正極活物質に、スピネル構造を有する組成式Lix Mn2-y1M1y2O4+z (式中、M1はAl,Co,Ni,Mg,Feからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の元素であり、0≦x≦1.5,0≦y1≦1.0,0≦y2≦0.5,−0.2≦z≦0.2の条件を満たす。)で表されるリチウム・マンガン系複合酸化物と、組成式Lia Nib Coc Mnd O2 (但し、0≦a≦1.2,b+c+d=1の条件を満たす。)で表されるリチウム・ニッケル・コバルト・マンガン複合酸化物とを組み合わせて用いたことを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。
