Abstract

Cette invention a trait à des nano-tiges en oxyde métallique ainsi qu'à des matériaux composites les contenant. Le diamètre de ces nano-tiges en oxyde métallique est compris entre 1 et 200 nm et leur rapport longueur-diamètre entre 5 et 2000. Le procédé de production de ces nano-tiges consiste à produire de la vapeur métallique à partir d'une source (20) de vapeur métallique dans un four (6), à exposer le substrat de croissance (22) des nano-tiges à la vapeur métallique dans une zone de croissance se situant dans le four (6) et ce, pendant un délai suffisant pour permettre leur croissance à la surface dudit substrat (22), à enlever celui-ci de la zone de croissance une fois le délai susmentionné écoulé et, enfin, à retirer du four (6) les nano-tiges. Ce procédé peut s'appliquer à la fabrication de quantités importantes de nano-tiges en oxyde métallique.
