2. Gegen Photo- und Thermozersetzung stabilisierte synthetische Polymere gemäß Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß R, und R2 Methyl
sind.
3. Verfahren zum Stabilisieren von synthetischen Polymeren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man

Gegenstand der trfindung sind gegen Photo- und
Thermozersetzung stabilisierte synthetische Polymere, die dadurch gekennzeichnet sind, daß sie in einer zur

Aus USA.-Patentschriften 3 103 542, 3 329 645 und französischer Patentschrift 1 331 449 sind Piperidinderivate
von unterschiedlicher Struktur und ihre Eignung lediglich als Antioxydantien für Kunststoffe
bekannt. Es läßt sich daraus kein Hinweis für die erfindungsgemäß vorhandenen, andersartig strukturierten
Stabilisatoren entnehmen, die in unvorhersehbarer und außergewöhnlich vorteilhafter Weise die Verfärbung
synthetischer Polymerer durch Lichteinwirkung verhindern. Die auf Grund dieses Stands der Technik
bekannten Kunststoffzusätze beschränken sich auf ihren Effekt als Antioxydans, der allgemein keine Voraussage
für den Einsatz als Lichtschutzmittel ermöglicht.

Der hier gebrauchte Ausdruck »synthetisches Polymer«
soll umfassen Polyolefine,
einschließlich Homopolymere von Olefinen, wie
Polyäthylen mit geringer Dichte, Polyäthylen mit hoher Dichte, Polypropylen, Polystyrol, Polybutadien.
Polyisopren u.dgl., und Copolymere von Olefinen mit anderen äthylenisch ungesättigten
Monomeren, wie Äthylen-Propylen-Copolymer, Äthylen-Buten-Copolymer, Äthylen-Vinylacetat
-Copolymer, Styrol - Butadien - Copolymer, Acrylnitril - Styrol - Butadien - Copolymer u. dgl.;
Polyvinylchloride und Polyvinylidenchloride,
einschließlich Homopolymere, jeweils von Vinylchlorid und Vinylidenchlorid, Vinylchlorid-Vinylidenchlorid - Copolymer und Copolymere, jeweils von Vinylchlorid und Vinylidenchlorid mit Vinylacetat oder anderen äthylenisch ungesättigten Monomeren; Polyamide; und
Polyurethane.
einschließlich Homopolymere, jeweils von Vinylchlorid und Vinylidenchlorid, Vinylchlorid-Vinylidenchlorid - Copolymer und Copolymere, jeweils von Vinylchlorid und Vinylidenchlorid mit Vinylacetat oder anderen äthylenisch ungesättigten Monomeren; Polyamide; und
Polyurethane.
Die Polyvinylchloride und Polyvinylidenchloride können auch gemischt sein mit anderen synthetischen
Polymeren, um die Kompositionen zu bilden.
Polyurethanelastomere, die in dem vorliegenden Verfahren verwendet werden, kennen beispielsweise
nach folgender Methode hergeste'lt sein. Ein Polymer mit verhältnismäßig niedrigem Molekulargewicht
mit endständigen aktiven Wasserstoffatomen, beispielsweise Polyäther oder Polyester, wird zur Reaktion
gebracht mit einem organischen Polyisocyanat und einem Kettenträger mit zwei oder mehr aktiven
Wasserstoffatomen, beispielsweise Diamin, Glykol oder Wasser, in Gegenwart oder Abwesenheit eines
Lösungsmittels in einer ein- oder mehrstufigen Reaktion, um ein Polyurethanelastomer mit hohem Molekulargewicht
herzustellen. Eine solche Methode ist beispielsweise in den japanischen Patentveröffentichungen
2 994/1959, 22 682/1964, 488/1966 und 13626/1967 beschrieben.
D;is Polyamid kann irgendeines der üblicherweise verwendeten Polyamide sein oder aus Mischungen
derselben bestehen.
Diese synthetischen Polymere sind wegen ihrer ausgezeichneten Eigenscharten in großem Umfang
verwendet worden in verschiedenen Formel oder Gestaltungen, beispielsweise als Fäden, Fasern, Garne,
Filme, Platten oder andere geformte Gegenstände, Latex und Schaum. Andererseits haben jedjch diese
Polymere Nachteile, wie geringe licht- und Hitzestabilität So haben beispielsweise Polyolefine und
Polyurethanelastomere oft die Neigung zu starker Zersetzung, wenn sie dem Licht, wie dem Sonnenlicht
oder dem Ultraviolettlicht, ausgesetzt werden, und Polyvinylchlorid und Polyvinylidenchlorid neigen häufig
zur Zersetzung, und sie werden verfärbt durch die Einwirkung von Licht und Hitze unter Ausscheidung
von Chlorwasserstoff. Polyamide sind auch oft der Photozersetzung unterworfen. Zur Stabilisierung dieser
synthetischen Polymere gegen solche Zersetzungen ist in der Technik bis jetzt eine Anzahl von Stabilisatoren
vorgeschlagen worden; beispielsweise für Polyolefine: Benzotriazolverbindungen und Benzophenonverbindungen;
für Polyurethane: Phenolverbindungen und Benzophenonverbindungen; und für Polyvinylchlorid und Polyvinylidenchlorid: Bleisalze,
wie basisches Bleisilikat und dreibasisches Bleimaleat
und organische Zinnverbindungen, wie Dibutylzinn-Jaureat und Dibutylzinnmaleat. Diese bekannte Art
von Stabilisatoren ist jedoch nicht völlig befriedigend
Daher besteht in der Technik das Bedürfnis nach wirksameren Stabilisatoren.
Als ein Ergebnis umfangreicher Untersuchungen ist nun unerwarteterweise gefunden worden, daß die
Piperidinderivate (I) und die Salze davon erfindungsgemäß in einem hohen Maße eine stabilisierende Wirkung
auf Polyolefine. Polyvinylchlorid, Polyvinylidenchlorid, Polyamide und Polyurethane gegen deren
Zersetzung ausüben.
Die Piperidinderivate (I) und ihre Salze gemäß der Erfindung sind neue Typen von Stabilisatoren mit
unterschiedlicher Struktur gegenüber den Strukturen konventioneller Stabilisatoren. So haben die vorliegenden
Piperidinderivate und deren Salze die folgenden charakteristischen Eigenschaften:
(1) Sie zeigen einen hohen Grad von Stabilisierungswirkung im Vergleich mit bekannten Stabilisatoren
gegenüber synthetischen Polymeren gegen Photozerset ?ung derselben,
(2) sie zeigen in keinem merklichen Ausmaß eine Verfärbungswirkung auf die synthetischen Polymeren,
und sie können zusammen m>t Weichmachern und anderen bekannten Stabilisatoren
verwendet werden, ohne die zu stabilisierenden synthetischen Polymere zu färben oder ihre
Stabilisierungsfähigkeit herabzusetzen,
(3) sie zeigen geringes thermisches Sublimieren und Ausschwitzen, und
(4) sie haben eine ausgezeichnete Stabilisierungswirkung gegen Thermozersetzung, ebenso wie
gegen Photozersetzung, wogegen die früheren Stabilisatoren nur eine geringe oder sogar eine
negative Stabilisierungswirkung gegen Thermozersetzung ausüben.
Repräsentative Beispiele der Piperidinderivate (I) und ihrer Salze, welche erfindungsgemäß verwendet
werden können, sind in der folgenden Liste zusammen-
gestellt. Die Erfindung ist jedoch auf diese Ausflihrungsbeispiele
nicht beschränkt.

Wie oben dargelegt wurde, werden die Salze der Piperidinderivate (1) ebenfalls als unter die Erfindung
fallend angesehen. Beispiele von Salzen der Piperidinderivate (I), die erfindungsgemäß verwendet werden
können, schließen ein anorganische saure Salze, wie Phosphat, Carbonat u. dgl., sowie organische saure
Salze, wie Citrat. Stearat, Benzoat u. dgl.
Die Piperidinverbindungen der Formel I können durch bekannte Methoden bequem und vorteilhaft
hergestellt werden, beispielsweise durch Reaktion einer 4-Hydroxy-piperidinverbindung, dargestellt

Verbindung zu bilden.
Die obenerwähnten synthetischen Polymere können beliebige Gestalt oder Form haben, beispielsweise können sie vorliegen in der Form eines Pulvers, von Fäden, Fasern, Filmen, Schäumen, Platten oder als andere geformte Gegenstände.

Die Piperidinderivate (1) oder deren Salze können
bei ihrer erfindungsgemäßen Anwendung als Stabilisatoren bequem inkorporiert werden in die synthetischen
Polymere durch verschiedene Standardverfahren, wie sie in der Technik üblich sind. Die Stabilisatoren
können in die synthetischen Polymere in irgendeiner gewünschten Stufe vor der Herstellung der
geformten Gegenstände inkorporiert werden. So kann beispielsweise d«.r trockne Stabilisator in der Form
eines Pulvers mit dem synthetischen Polymer gemischt werden, oder eine Suspension oder Emulsion
des Stabilisators kann mit einer Suspension oder Emulsion des synthetischen Polymers gemischt werden.
Die Menge der Piperidinderivate (I) oder der Salze

derselben, welche in dem synthetischen Polymer ge-
maß der Erfindung verwendet wird, kann in weiten stabilisator
Grenzen variieren in Abhängigkeit von der Art, den Eigenschaften und den besonderen Verwendungszwek-
ken der zu stabilisierenden synthetischen Polymere. 5 Verbindung

Die vorliegenden Stabilisatoren können allein oder 40
in Kombination mit anderen bekannten Stabilisatoren. 20 ^
Füllstoffen, Pigmenten u. dgl. verwendet werden.
Falls gewünscht, können zwei oder mehr der vorliegenden Stabilisatoren, d. h., die Piperidinderivate 45
der Formel 1 und die Salze davon, auch befriedigend 49
in Gemischen verwendet werden. 25 53
Die folgenden Beispiele werden zum besseren Ver- Tinuvin P
ständnis der Erfindung gegeben, und zwar nur zum ^, c '"
Zwecke der Erläuterung. In den Beispielen sind alle Uhne stabilisator
Teile Gewichtsteile, sofern nicht etwas anderes angegeben
ist. Die Ziffern der in den Beispielen verwendeten 30 B e i s ρ i e 1 2
Stabilisatoren entsprechen den in der vorangehenden
Liste zusammengestellten Verbindungen. 100 Teile Polyäthylen mit hoher Dichte, das durch
Niederdruckpolymerisation erhalten war, wurde unter Schmelzen mit 0,25 Teilen eines in der folgenden
Tabelle 2 spezifizierten Stabilisators gemischt. Das erhaltene Gemisch wurde zu einer Platte mit einer
Dicke von 0,5 mm unter Hitze und Druck geformt.
Dann wurde der Versuch in der gleichen Weise durchgenihrt, wie im Beispiel 1 beschrieben ist. Die
Testergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 2 zusammengefaßt.

100 Teile Polypropylen wurden unter Schmelzen gemischt mit 0,25 Teilen eines erfindungsgemäßen
Stabilisators, wie in der folgenden Tabelle 1 angegeben ist. Das erhaltene Gemisch wurde unter Anwendung
von Hitze und Druck zu einer Platte mit einer Dicke von 0,5 mm geformt.
Zur Kontrolle wurde die Polypropylenplatte in ähnlicher Weise wie oben hergestellt, jedoch mit dem
unter der Bezeichnung »Trinuvin P« bekannten konventionellen Stabilisator 2-(2'-Hydroxy-5'-methylphenyl)-benzodiazol
zu Vergleichszwecken.
Dann wurden alle diese so gebildeten Platten auf ihre Versprödungszeit (also die Zeit, ausgedrückt in
Stunden, bis die Testplatte spröde wird) untersucht, und zwar unter Anwendung von Ultraviolettbestrahlung
bei einer Temperatur von 45° C mit Hilfe des Fadeometers. welcher in Japanese Industrial Standard
JIS-L-1044 mit dem Tital »Testing Method of Color Fastness to Light of Dyed Textiles and Dyestuffs« vorgeschrieben
ist. Der verwendete Apparat ist im Abschnitt 3.8 dieser Veröffentlichung in englischer
Sprache beschrieben.
Die Testergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 1 zusammengestellt.

Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 3 Beispiel 5
(zusammengestellt. 100 Teile Polyvinylchlorid wurden innig gemischt
mit 1 Teil Bleistearat, 0,5 Teilen zweibasischem Blei
stearat, 0,5 Teilen Bariumsteara'., 0,5 Teilen Cadmiumstearat
und 0,05 Teilen des Stabilisators gemäß der Erfindung, wie in der folgenden Tabelle 5 angegeben
ist. Das erhaltene pulverförmige Gemisch wurde durch Walzen bei 3 70° C während 5 Minuten zu einer Platte
von 0,5 mm Dicke geformt. Zur Untersuchung der Hitzestabilität der in obiger Weise hergestellten Platte,
wurde die Platte in Geers Ofen auf 175° C erhitzt, und
es wurde die Zeit gemessen, bis die Platte gefärbt und zersetzt wurde. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden
Tabelle 5 zusammengestellt.

100 Teile eines handelsüblich erhältlichen Acrylnitril
- Butadien - Styrol - Copolymers wurden unter Schmelzen mit 0,5 Teilen eines Stabilisators gemäß der
vorliegenden Tabelle 4 gemischt. Das erhaltene Gemisch wurde unter Hitze und Druck zu einer Platte
mit einer Dicke von 0,5 mm geformt. Dann wurde die Platte 50 Stunden der künstlichen Bewitterung mit
Hilfe eines Bewitterungsmessers mit Sonnenschein-Kohlelichtbogen ausgesetzt, wie in JIS-Z-0230 beschrieben,
um die Retention der Zugfestigkeit zu messen. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 4
zusammengestellt

Um die Lichtstabilität der Platte zu untersuchen, wurde sie bei 180° C unter einem Druck von lOOkg/cm2
während 5 Minuten gepreßt und dann ultraviolettem Licht mit Hilfe des Bewitterungsmessers mit Sonnenschein-Kohlelichtbogen,
wie im Beispiel 4 beschrieben, ausgesetzt Die Zeit, bis die Platten sich verfärbten
und zersetzten, wurde gemessen. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 6 zusammengestellt.

100 Teile Polyvinylidenchleridharz wurden innig
gemischt mit 7 Teilen Dioctylphlhalat und 0,25 Teilen des in der folgenden Tabelle 7 spezifizierten erfindungsgemäßen
Stabilisators. Das erhaltene Gemisch wurde bei 160'1C unter Druck mit Hilfe einer Preßformmaschine
zu einer Platte mit einer Dicke von 2 mm geformt. Zur Prüfung der Lichtstabilität wurde ein
Testslück dieser Platte dem Ultravioletllicht für unterschiedliche
Zeitabschnitte mit Hilfe des im Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Fadeometers ausgesetzt. Die Ergebnisse
im Hinblick auf die Färbung sind in der folgenden Tabelle 7 dargestellt
Zur Prüfung der Hitzestabilität wurde ein anderes Teststück in der gleichen Weise behandelt
wie oben und in Geers Ofen auf 150 C erhitzt, und es wurde die Änderung der Färbung in einer bestimmten
Zeit geprüft. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 8 zusammengestellt.
wie sich aus den Tabellen 7 und 8 ergibt, ist die Zeit, bis das Polyvinylidenchloridharz, in welchem
der erfindungsgemäße Stabilisator enthalten ist, gefärbt und zersetzt wird, eine lange, und es ist somit die
ausgezeichnete Stabilisierungswirkung des erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisators bewiesen.

Zu 100 Teilen eines handelsüblich erhältlichen Polyurethanharzes,
welches synthetisch hergestellt wurde aus Polycaprolacton (ein Harz E-5080, hergestellt
und vertrieben von der Firma Nihon Elastran Kabushiki Kai?ha, und in das kein Stabilisator inkorporiert
ist), wurden hinzugefügt 0,5 Teile des erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisators gemäß der Spezifizierung
;io in der folgenden Tabelle 9. Das erhaltene Gemisch
! wurde zu einer elastischen Platte mit einer Dicke von
etwa 0,5mm bei 165°C mit Hilfe eines Extruders geformt. Die so erhaltene Platte wurde 15 Stunden dem
ultraviolettem Licht ausgesetzt mit Hilfe eines Fadeometers, wie er im Beispiel 1 beschrieben ist, und anschließend
der Reckprobe unterworfen, um die Retentionen der Zugfestigkeit und der Dehnung zu bestimmen.
Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 9 zusammengestellt.
Wie sich aus der Tabelle 9 ergibt, hat die elastische Platte, in der der erfindungsgemäße Stabilisator inkorporiert
ist, gute Eigenschaften, und es ist somii die bemerkenswerte Stabilisierungswirkung des erfindungsgemäßen
Stabilisators bewiesen.

500 Teile Polycaprolactonglykol mit einem durc schnittlichen Molekulargewicht von 1000 wurd
unter Rühren mit 44 Teilen 2,4-Tolylendiisocyar bei 90 Cl Stunde im Stickstoffstrom zur Reakti
gebracht, um ein Vorpolymer mit endständigen F droxylgruppen unü einem durchschnittlichen Mo
kulargewicht von 2140 zu erhalten. Anschließe wurden 100 Teile des Vorpolymers in 330 Teil
trockenem Dimethylformamid gelöst, um eine gleii
förmige Lösung zu bilden. Zu der Lösung wurc tropfenweise und unter Rühren 23,4 Teile 4,4'-]
phemlmethandiisocyanat bei Raumtemperatur un einem Stickstoffstrom hinzugeführt, wonach das
haltene Gemisch 40 Minuten bei 85 C gerührt wurde, um die Reaktion zu beenden. Das so erhaltene Gemisch
war eine Dimethyjformamidlösung eines Polymers mit endständigen Isocyanatgruppen, Zu dieser
Lösung wurden tropfenweise und unter Rühren 20 Teile Dimethylformamid, die 0,1 Teile Wasser enthalten,
bei Raumtemperatur hinzugefügt, um eine gleichförmige Lösung zu bilden. Zu der erhaltenen
Lösung wurde hinzugefügt eine Lösung eines erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisators gemäß angezeigter Menge
in 20 Teilen trocknem Dimethylformamid, und anschließend wurde ausreichend gerührt. Nach dem Entgasen
wurde die erhaltene Lösung extrudiert mit Hilfe einer Injektionsröhre mit einem Innendurchmesser
von 0,2 mm, und zwar in auf 70 bis 80 C erhitztes Wasser bei einer Länge von 2 m, um einen elastischen
Faden bzw. ein elastisches Garn zu bilden. Der so erhaltene elastische Faden wurde 30 Minuten in auf
90 bis lOOC erhitztes heißes Wasser getaucht, wodurch
man ein elastisches Garn mit einer Festigkeit von 2,5 g den und einer Dehnung von 500% erhielt.
Der so hergestellte polyurethanische Faden wurde 15 Stunden der Ultraviolettbestrahlung ausgesetzt mit
Hilfe eines Fadeomelers. wie er im Beispiel 1 beschrieben ist. wonach die Festigkeil und die Dehnung
untersucht wurden. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 10 zusammengestellt.
Wie sich aus der Tabelle 10 ergibt, hat der elastische
Faden, welcher den Stabilisator inkorporiert enthält, eine ausgezeichnete Stabilität gegenüber Licht, womit
die bemerkenswert ausgezeichnete Lichtstabilisierungsaktivität des erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisators
bewiesen ist.

100 Teile 6-Nylonharz wurden zusammengebracht mit 0,25 Teilen eines erSndungsgemäßen Stabilisators
gemäß Spezifizierung in der folgenden Tabellen.
Das erhaltene Gemisch wurde zu einem Film mit einer Dicke von etwa 0,1 mm unter Hitze und Druck mittels
einer Preßformmaschine geformt. Das Teststück des Films wurde 300 Stunden der Ultraviolettbestrahlung
mittels eines Bewitterungsmessers, wie er im Beispiel 4 beschrieben ist, ausgesetzt, wonach die Retentionen
der Zugfestigkeit und der Dehnung gemessen wurden. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 11 zusammengestellt
Zur Prüfung der Hitzestabilität wurde ein anderes Teststück, welches in der gleichen Weise
wie oben beschrieben hergestellt wurde, in Geers Ofen 8 Tage auf 140° C erhitzt, wonach die Retentionen der
Zugfestigkeit und der Dehnung gemessen wurden. Die Ergebnisse sind in der folgenden Tabelle 12 zusammengestellt.
Wie sich aus den Tabellen 11 und 12 ergibt, hat das Teststück, in das der erfindungsgemäße Stabilisator inkorporiert
ist, eine ausgezeichnete Bewitterungs- und Hitzestabilität, womit die ausgezeichnete Stabilisier
rungs wirkung des erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisators bewiesen ist.
