参照图14示出了包括嵌入基材1404内的包括多个天线1402a-1402n(合称1402)的说明性天线单元1400。在一个实施例中,天线单元1400可以包括接地面1406,接地面1406在一定程度上影响天线1402的天线方向图。天线1402共同提供了天线阵列,以致对从天线阵列发射的无线功率信号进行相位调整可使能够以相位调整后的矩阵天线方向图来指向天线方向图,如本领域中已知的那样。天线单元1400不包括诸如金属壁1308之类的波导壁,波导壁有助于将天线1402彼此隔离以减小串扰。然而,基材1404有助于衰减近场信号,从而减小邻近的天线1402之间的串扰。嵌有多个天线元件的基材1404可以被视为铸件(casting)。基材1404可以是诸如陶瓷材料或硅材料之类的电介质。
参照图15示出了用于制作发射机天线的说明性过程1500的流程图,该发射机天线包括嵌入基材内的谐振器元件。该过程从步骤1502开始,其中,可以形成被配置为辐射无线信号的谐振器元件。谐振器元件可以是3D天线,并且形成为各种不同的配置,例如图5-12中所示。在步骤1504中,谐振器元件可以被嵌入基材中。在将谐振器元件嵌入基材中的过程中,基材可以被施加为可流动或可注入状态下的基材并且转变为固态。基材可以自粉末形式开始并且具有与粉末混合的液体溶液以形成基材。基材可以具有介于9和10之间的相对介电常数。基于天线的参数和天线要发射的信号频率可以使用替代性的相对介电常数。
参照图16示出了用于制作具有使用图15所示的过程制作的3D发射机天线的发射机的说明性过程的流程图。过程1600可以从步骤1602开始,其中,可以提供包括多个天线的天线阵列,该天线具有嵌入基材中的谐振器元件。在步骤1604中,天线阵列可以被连接到发射机上。发射机可以配置为发射高于1GHz的信号,并且天线阵列的天线可以配置为支持用于提供无线功率信号的大于1GHz的频率和信号带宽。
用于为电池无线充电的装置的一个实施例可以包括发射机单元,该发射机单元包括发射机和与发射机通信的天线单元。天线单元可以包括配置为多个3D天线元件,3D天线元件配置为发射无线信号以用于为电池充电。电池可以在诸如移动电话之类的移动装置中。替代性地,无线信号可以用于操作电子装置。3D天线元件可以是螺旋形的。天线单元可以包括电感安装插座,该电感安装插座配置为与包裹介电拉杆(dielectric rods)的各自的3D天线元件附联,该电感安装插座和天线元件被电感式耦接,以使天线元件发射无线功率信号。3D天线元件可以包裹在电介质中。电介质可以是陶瓷。电介质的相对介电常数可以大于5。在无线信号的中心频率处的相对介电常数可以介于大约9和大约10之间。无线信号可以具有大于1GHz的频率。在一个实施例中,天线元件可以是模印金属结构。模印金属结构可以配置为发射具有多个极化的无线功率信号。极化可以有三种。
天线单元可以配置为线型阵列。线型阵列的长度可以超过2英尺。线型阵列可以由彼此之间间隔布置的多个线型阵列形成。天线单元可以配置为矩阵。3D天线元件可以是规律间隔的。3D天线元件可以是变化间隔的。3D天线元件可以被划分为子阵列,并且子阵列可以选择用于由所选择的子阵列发射无线功率信号。3D天线元件可以是可单独选择的。处理单元可以配置为使发射机生成信号,并经由3D天线单元发射无线功率信号。
前述方法说明和过程流程图仅提供作为说明性示例,而不用于要求或暗示各实施例中的步骤必须按照所给出的顺序来执行。前述实施例中的步骤可以任何顺序执行。诸如“之后”、“下一个”之类的表达并不用于限制步骤的顺序。这些表达仅用于引导读者阅读方法的全部说明。尽管过程流程图可以将操作描述为顺序过程,但是许多操作还能够并行或同时执行。此外,操作的顺序可以被重新布置。过程可以对应于方法、函数、程序、子例程、子程序等。当过程对应于函数时,过程的结束可以对应于该函数返回调用函数或主函数。

Claims (29)

1.一种天线,包括:
一个或多个天线子单元,所述一个或多个天线子单元中的每个天线子单元包括:
三维谐振器元件,配置为辐射射频无线功率信号;
基材,嵌有所述三维谐振器元件,其中所述基材由电介质材料制成;以及
壁,大致围绕所述基材的全部和所述三维谐振器元件的全部,其中:
所述壁由与所述电介质材料不同的金属材料制成;以及
所述壁配置为用作所述射频无线功率信号的波导或准波导结构;
其中,至少一个天线子单元包括介电常数与其他一个或多个天线子单元不同的基材,并且所述天线被配置为在接收机的位置处形成局部能量口袋,该局部能量口袋包括多个无线功率信号的峰值信号组合,所述多个无线功率信号由不同的三维谐振器元件辐射,所述天线采用至少8dB的指向性水平和大于-10dB的增益水平来确保所述局部能量口袋具有足够小的尺寸并具有足够大的能量,以使能够对电子设备远程供电或充电。
2.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述谐振器元件是螺旋形的。
3.根据权利要求2所述的天线,其中,所述基材是圆柱形的。
4.根据权利要求2所述的天线,其中,所述无线信号大于1GHz。
5.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述基材是陶瓷。
6.根据权利要求5所述的天线,其中,所述基材是氧化铝。
7.根据权利要求6所述的天线,还包括芯,所述芯布置在限定天线元件的所述谐振器元件内并被所述谐振器元件包围。
8.根据权利要求7所述的天线,其中,所述芯是陶瓷。
9.根据权利要求8所述的天线,还包括所述基材的铸件,所述铸件嵌有多个谐振器元件,所述多个谐振器元件包括所述三维谐振器元件。
10.根据权利要求9所述的天线,其中,所述铸件是硅。
11.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述基材在所述无线信号的中心频率处的相对介电常数介于大约9和大约10之间。
12.根据权利要求1所述的天线,还包括接地面,所述谐振器元件在所述接地面上延伸。
13.根据权利要求12所述的天线,其中,所述接地面的尺寸小于大约1.5平方英寸。
14.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,嵌入所述基材内的所述谐振器元件的指向性介于大约9dB和大约10dB之间。
15.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述谐振器元件使得所述无线信号被圆形极化。
16.根据权利要求1所述的天线,还包括嵌入所述基材内的多个谐振器元件。
17.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述谐振器元件被布置在印刷电路板PCB上。
18.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述谐振器元件被印制在硅上。
19.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述天线发射无线功率信号以对电子装置充电。
20.根据权利要求1所述的天线,其中,所述天线采用8dB或略大于8dB的增益水平。
21.一种制造天线的方法,所述方法包括:
形成配置为辐射射频无线功率信号的三维谐振器元件;
将所述三维谐振器元件嵌入基材内,其中所述基材由电介质材料制成;以及
设置大致围绕所述基材的全部和所述三维谐振器元件的全部的壁,其中:
所述壁由与所述电介质材料不同的金属材料制成;以及
所述壁配置为用作所述射频无线功率信号的波导或准波导结构;
其中,至少一个天线子单元包括介电常数与其他一个或多个天线子单元不同的基材,并且所述天线被配置为在接收机的位置处形成局部能量口袋,该局部能量口袋包括多个无线功率信号的峰值信号组合,所述多个无线功率信号由不同的三维谐振器元件辐射,所述天线采用至少8dB的指向性水平和大于-10dB的增益水平来确保所述局部能量口袋具有足够小的尺寸并具有足够大的能量,以使能够对电子设备远程供电或充电。
22.根据权利要求21所述的方法,其中,形成所述谐振器元件包括形成螺旋形谐振器元件。
23.根据权利要求21所述的方法,其中,将所述谐振器元件嵌入基材内包括将所述谐振器元件嵌入陶瓷基材内。
24.一种用于为电池无线充电的设备,所述设备包括发射机,所述发射机包括:
一个或多个天线子单元,所述一个或多个天线子单元中的每个天线子单元包括:
三维天线元件,配置为发射用于为电池充电的射频无线功率信号;
基材,嵌有所述三维天线元件,其中所述基材由电介质材料制成;
基座,其上放置有所述基材,其中所述基座作为接地面工作;以及
壁,大致围绕所述基材的全部和谐振器元件的全部,其中:
所述壁由与所述电介质材料不同的金属材料制成;以及
所述壁配置为用作所述射频无线功率信号的波导或准波导结构;
其中,至少一个天线子单元包括介电常数与其他一个或多个天线子单元不同的基材,并且所述发射机被配置为在接收机的位置处形成局部能量口袋,该局部能量口袋包括多个无线功率信号的峰值信号组合,所述多个无线功率信号由不同的三维谐振器元件辐射,天线采用至少8dB的指向性水平和大于-10dB的增益水平来确保所述局部能量口袋具有足够小的尺寸并具有足够大的能量,以使能够对电子设备远程供电或充电。
25.根据权利要求24所述的设备,其中,所述天线元件是螺旋形的。

27.根据权利要求26所述的设备,其中,所述基材是陶瓷。
28.根据权利要求27所述的设备,其中,所述基材在所述无线信号的中心频率处的相对介电常数介于大约9和大约10之间。
29.根据权利要求24所述的设备,其中,所述无线信号的频率大于1GHz。
