技术领域
本公开案的技术涉及用于将光纤电缆固定到光纤设备的应变消除支架及相关总成和方法。
背景技术
光纤使用的益处包括极宽的带宽和低噪音操作。由于这些优点,光纤越来越多地用于各种应用,包括(但不限于)宽带语音、视频和数据传输。因此,光纤通信网络包括许多互连点,多个光纤在所述互连点处互连。光纤通信网络还包括许多连接终端,所述连接终端的实例包括(但不限于)网络接入点(NAP)外壳、天线罩、低级罩、基座、光网络终端(ONT)及网络接口装置(NID)。在某些情况下,连接终端包括通常通过连接终端的外壁打开的连接端口。连接终端用于建立从分布电缆端接的光纤与一或多个“预连接”引入电缆、延伸分布电缆、系绳电缆或分支电缆(在本文中统称为“引入电缆”)的各个光纤之间的光学连接。连接终端用于将光纤通信服务轻易扩展到用户。就此而言,开发传递“光纤到路边”(FTTC)、“光纤到大楼”(FTTB)、“光纤到户”(FTTH)及“光纤到驻地”(FTTP)的光纤网络,通常称为“FTTx”。
光纤电缆(例如,干线电缆)可在光纤设备之间延伸大距离。光纤电缆布线可包含将光纤电缆弯曲到所需位置中。弯曲光纤电缆可在光纤电缆上强加弯曲应变。光纤电缆被设计以容忍一定量的弯曲应变,而不破坏安置在光纤电缆内的光纤。可选择电缆护套及电缆护套内的强度部件的内含物的材料以实现光纤电缆的所需应变公差。即使如此,光纤电缆上超过设计极限的极端弯曲应变可能有破坏安置在光纤电缆内的光纤的风险。进一步,弯曲光纤电缆可导致不需要的光衰减。弯曲应变还可能有破坏从光纤电缆的端部暴露的光纤(例如,叉形分支)的风险。
为防止或降低光纤电缆上的弯曲应变,可使用附接装置。附接装置可附接到光纤设备以将光纤电缆固定到光纤设备并为光纤电缆提供应变消除。就此而言,图1是光纤壳体10的局部透视后视图,图示示范性附接装置12。附接装置12用于分别将各自含有一或多个光纤16A、16B的光纤电缆14A、14B固定到光纤壳体10。在此实例中,附接装置12为L形,在一个末端处具有法兰18,所述法兰具有多个开口20。开口20可接收紧固件22(例如,电缆扎带或Velcro扎带)以将光纤电缆14A、14B和/或光纤16A、16B栓紧并固定到附接装置12且进而固定到光纤壳体10。
提供支持更大密度的光纤连接的光纤设备。当由光纤设备支持的光纤连接密度增加时,布线到光纤设备的光纤电缆和/或光纤的数目也增加。通常限制光纤设备中专用于支持附接装置固定光纤电缆和/或光纤的区域。因此,在高密度光纤设备中,较少区域可用于将每一光纤电缆和/或光纤固定到光纤设备。因此,安装并管理光纤设备中的附接装置以将更多光纤电缆和/或光纤固定在光纤设备中的给定区域中正变得越来越难。进一步,附接装置还可能不具有处理数目增加的光纤电缆和/或光纤,而不阻挡接入光纤设备的能力。进一步,附接装置还可能不具有足够荷载强度以固定较大直径光纤电缆并为较大直径光纤电缆提供应变消除,所述光纤电缆可布线到光纤设备用于支撑数目增加的光纤。
发明内容
本文中公开的实施方式包括用于将光纤电缆和/或光纤固定到光纤设备的可拆卸应变消除支架及相关总成和方法。可拆卸应变消除支架可用于固定布线到光纤设备的光纤电缆和/或光纤。可拆卸应变消除支架还可用于为布线并固定到光纤设备的光纤电缆和/或光纤提供应变消除。本文中论述的光纤电缆包括不论是安置在常用电缆护套中还是彼此自由地安置在电缆护套外的光纤。

继续参看图4A至图4E,弯曲法兰132可安置在主体50中并帮助防止图2A的可拆卸应变消除支架24相对于安装表面26的扭转运动。弯曲法兰132可包括第一部分140和第二部分142。第一部分140可从底面124延伸。第二部分142可包含第一配合表面146和与第一配合表面146相对的第二配合表面148。第二部分142可相对于第一部分140成角度θ(西塔)安置且沿第二部分轴A2(参见图6A)朝向弯曲法兰132的远端150延伸。角度θ(西塔)可为九十(90)度。弯曲法兰132的第二部分142可从第一部分140朝向弯曲法兰132的远端150逐渐变小,如图4E中所示,其中距离D6小于距离D5。锥形将使得弯曲法兰132能够更好与安装表面26和配合特征结构102连通。

插销134可为较大总成的一部分,以使得插销134的操作在不使用工具的情况下成为可能。如图5中所示,插销134可由柱塞总成160组成。在一个实施方式中,柱塞总成160可为从总部设在宾夕法尼亚州康科德维尔的SouthcoIncorporated购得的目录编号为56-99-513的弹簧承载柱塞162。柱塞总成160可包含套管164、弹簧166、柱塞头98和插销134。
可拆卸应变消除支架24的另一特征结构可为主体50。图5以分解图图示图2A的可拆卸应变消除支架24的主体50上的上述特征结构的排列方式。主体50可包括第一部分176和第二部分178。可包括顶面126和切缝48、48(2)、48(3)、48(4)作为第一部分176的一部分。可包括弯曲法兰132、下翻法兰136和主体50中的孔口158作为第二部分178的一部分。第一部分176和第二部分178可使用各种技术,例如,焊接、使用第三紧固件179(参见图5)紧固而附接在一起。第三紧固件179可为例如铆钉或由总部设在宾夕法尼亚州Danboro的PennEngineering制造的紧固件180。制造由第一部分176和第二部分178组成的主体50的益处可能是降低制造费用。分组在不同部分上具有类似弯曲方向的特征结构且接着附接不同部分通常较便宜。原因在于可使用与可在不同弯曲方向上执行金属弯曲操作的更贵制造机器相反的较便宜制造机器。
主体50可由弹性且强健材料(例如,0.060英寸厚的钢铁)制成。还可使用其他材料,但优选可与金属成形操作(例如,冲压)相容的那些材料。
接着,先前论述的弯曲法兰132可为主体50的一部分且可具有使附接系统100的更好性能成为可能的特殊特征结构。如图6A和图6B中所示,弯曲法兰132可经配置以与安装表面26和安装表面26的配合特征结构102连通。具体地,第一配合表面146可经配置以由配合特征结构102的配合界面表面152接收,并且,第二配合表面148可经配置以由安装表面26接收,如图6A和图6B中所示。第一配合表面146可包括非平面特征结构154、154(2),如图6C中所示且更早图5中所示。第一配合表面146可经配置以与配合界面表面152的互补非平面特征结构156、156(2)连通,如图6C中所示。非平面特征结构154、154(2)可平行于第二部分轴A2,如图4C中所示。非平面特征结构154、154(2)的益处在于:非平面特征结构154、154(2)可经配置以通过与互补非平面特征结构156、156(2)形成紧密连通来防止可拆卸应变消除支架24相对于安装表面26的扭转运动。
图6A和图6B还图示先前论述的柱塞总成160的套管164的剖面图。套管164可将柱塞总成160连接到主体50并可限制插销134沿插销纵轴A3和主体50中的孔口158双向地移动。套管164还可用于限制插销134的运动范围,以使得插销134的远端168不延伸超过光纤设备壳体28的底部平坦表面144的几何平面P1,以阻挡附接到垂直导轨的其他光纤设备壳体28的运动,如先前所述。
此外,柱塞总成160的插销134可附接到柱塞头98。插销134可从柱塞头98延伸。弹簧166可分别在第一连接点170和第二连接点172处连接到柱塞头98和套管164两者,如图6A和图6B中所示。当插销134的远端168不与安装表面26接触时,弹簧166将柱塞头98偏压到套管164的套管顶面174。柱塞头98可经配置以在远离安装表面26的方向上接受手动拉力,以使插销134从安装表面26的孔口104脱离。弹簧166可经配置以将插销134插入安装表面26的孔口104中,而至少一个邻接表面130邻接安装表面26。
用于制造柱塞总成160的组件的材料可在市场上买到。套管164、插销134和柱塞头98可由强弹性材料(例如,低碳钢铁)制成。弹簧166可由硬防腐蚀材料(例如含有至少10%的铬的300系列不锈钢)制成。
由于已论述可拆卸应变消除支架24的特征结构,所以可公开用于将光纤电缆44的端部94固定到光纤设备壳体28的示范性方法184。就此而言,在光纤电缆44的端部94可光学地耦接到光纤设备之前,光纤电缆44可能需要固定以为光纤设备提供应变消除。在一个实施方式中,光纤设备可为光纤设备壳体28。图7图示用于将光纤电缆44的端部94固定到光纤设备壳体28的示范性方法184,如图2A至图6D中所示。在第一步骤中,光纤电缆44的端部94可邻近至少一个切缝48安置。切缝48可凸出可拆卸应变消除支架24的主体50(图7中的步骤186)。此步骤还可包括:通过剥去光纤电缆44的端部94的外护套42以将子单元光纤46暴露至过渡点96制备光纤电缆44。

41.如权利要求40所述的方法,其中所述将所述插销接收在所述孔口中的步骤进一步包含以下步骤:沿所述安装表面滑动所述邻接表面,同时在凸起浮雕的表面上方滑动所述插销的远端以偏压弹簧,所述弹簧将所述插销的所述远端插入所述安装表面的所述孔口中。
42.如权利要求41所述的方法,其中所述将所述插销接收在所述孔口中的步骤包括以下步骤:限制所述插销的所述远端沿所述凸起浮雕的所述表面以曲线轨迹行进。
43.如权利要求42所述的方法,其中所述将所述可拆卸应变消除支架的所述弯曲法兰接收在所述配合特征结构中的步骤进一步包括以下步骤:
通过所述配合特征结构的配合界面表面接收所述弯曲法兰的第一配合表面;和
通过所述安装表面接收所述弯曲法兰的第二配合表面,
其中所述弯曲法兰包括第一部分和第二部分,所述第一部分从所述底面延伸,所述第二部分包含所述第一配合表面和与所述第一配合表面相对的所述第二配合表面,所述第二部分相对于所述第一部分成角度安置且沿第二部分轴朝向所述弯曲法兰的远端延伸。
44.如权利要求43所述的方法,其中所述通过所述配合特征结构的所述配合界面表面接收所述弯曲法兰的所述第一配合表面的步骤进一步包括以下步骤:
通过所述配合界面表面的互补非平面特征结构接收所述第一配合表面的非平面特征结构。
